They say that it is the way the skull containsd the brain...at least thats what Ive heard. I am going to take her out in the cold. A couple of times I have taken her to the vets and she loses them by the time I get there....I just worry about her back, from all the thrashing. Then she has seizures that last about an hour. Vet says that's not good.....a lot of times they last and last and they have to be anesthetized to try and get them out of it, but it doesn't work well and sometimes have to be put down. I love her and her dorky brother. They are my buds....my heart is breaking. Her brother is the one that has the intestinal problem that causes him to vomit and he has a case of malabsorbsion. His food has to be cooked down and liquified into the consistency of baby formula for him to keep it down. So they keep me on my toes. Would not trade them for love or money..... loyal, faithful sweeties.

Oh the poor things! There must be something in their breeding for them both to have such major health problems. I really feel for you because I know they can be like your babies and it is hard seeing them suffer so much.

Amen to that Henny. I love my chickens but man I sure was having second thoughts trudging through that snow. I love snow and I love my chickens but not together I don't. The wind was just so biting and I'm very warm natured. Heck I didn't think polar bears ever got cold but boy was I wrong. LOL

Donnie, Your post may have gotten lost in the banter last night, so I will pull it forward for a response.

I checked the signature lines of several Okies and didn't see these breeds listed.

Morning Al,Pepper,

14 degrees and snow flurries here. Supposed to break away and be sunny and 29! I think the new ice age has started.
Hope you don't have to be out in it too much today Al. This cold is going to make it hard to save eggs for hatching early this year. Haven't seen City on here all weekend. I guess she has been busy with all the sports stuff. Have a good one.

I don't even live close, but I'd be willing to drive there just to enjoy the aroma

I absolutely love fresh cinnamon rolls.

We go to the Oklahoma State Fair every year & spend .... I think around $8 each for a cinnamon roll ??? Maybe if I can ever retire & have spare time I can learn how to make some.

My mom makes fresh cinnamon rolls and oh are they oh so good. She always made them Christmas, Thanksgiving and Easter mornings. Sometimes instead of making the dough herself, she would buy the roll dough in the freezer section to cut out the time in preparation. She would put the dough on a plate in the fridge overnight to thaw and slowly rise. Then the next morning finish the rising and rolling it out spread a little butter on them, then sprinkling with cinnamon and sugar then roll and cut and rise again and bake. This way wasn't as difficult as making the dough from scratch and anybody could do it. She also for some who like the carmel on the bottom, not me so she made me some seperately, put butter and brown sugar in the bottom of the baking dish. I haven't made them myself in a long time, but I am pretty sure that was all of the directions. I will ask her for the exact directions if anybody is interested.

We use a bread machine to make the dough - I don't have time to make it from scratch anymore, and DH (who usually makes the dough these days) has a hard time kneading the dough and controlling it when only one hand/arm work. He made the dough up Saturday night. We put about 1/2 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg in the dough. It was SO good! We also use a very good cinnamon - my brother got me hooked on the vietnamese cinnamon - it has an excellent flavor. I frosted the rolls with a frosting made of powdered sugar (what else!), vanilla, melted butter and a touch of the cinnamon. My dad thought he'd died and gone to heaven. He makes lousy coffee, but the cinnamon rolls made even the coffee taste good!

Yeah I am heading out the door shortly, I will be frozen all day I imagine. No heat in these homes I am working on Brrrrr.

Morning everyone! Well I didn't have to go to work. We were supposed to have a professional day...no kids but the way it looks around here I don't think we'll have school all week. We may have to go to school all summer. The roads are horrible here except for the highways. We're a rural school so all our roads are in the hills.

Now trying to decide what I am going to work on. My tubs for Christmas are buried on the deck in the snow so I can't take down my Christmas...tried to get them lose and was afraid I'd crack the tubs...DH even tried. Oh well, we'll just look at the tree a little longer. I'd start cleaning out closets and the kitchen getting ready for when we get to move but I don't have any boxes to put garage sale stuff in. I'm in a catch 22...yuck

Anyway have a great day...stay warm if you have to go out in it. I'm dying to go out and see if my warmers kept the water from freezing but it's too dang cold here now. Gonna wait till it warms up to say 20 degrees...LOL

Have a Blessed Day
