Maybe you should have shaken it first to mix it up.

Yes, Al, it is very much an acquired taste... one taste of ice cold creamy milk from a Guernsey cow and you have acquired a desire to taste it for the rest of your life.

Tell you what, I'll pick up some fresh one of these days and bring it in my ice chest to one of the auctions so you can try it. Gotta warn ya though, it will ruin you for store bought!

I aint skeered I'll try anything once. Good stuff happening on the Fletcher auction scene huh Jim.

AL

I think so. It certainly clears the air. Folks will no longer need to divide the loyalty or decide which auction to attend.

I'll try to figure out a good one to bring you that milk.

I will take what you have for now and get the others later... I have rhode island reds and some blue americana eggs coming this week and weekend.... we just bought 12 5month old buff orpingtons today, and I have a trio of dark brahmas, and one goldenlaced wyandotte cochin, but none of the hens I have are laying right now

I usually set eggs on Wednesday morning. That is 7 days of collecting. Do you want this wednesday or wait let me set these then collect for you?

You can just collect for me... Not like I can get them tomorrow. I would just like to have eggs hatching by mid February... Go ahead and incubate what you have and then I will get the next batch....

Are you guys coming to our sale on Saturday? If so, I could take what you get between wednesday and saturday... That would be fine!

Kate a dropped ceiling is perfect for the insulation. If it was suspended very well, and I bet it was, with wires about every six or so feet on the long runners it will hold fiberglass insulation. I have done many of them. Just cut the batts, no paper one one side, the same size as the tiles if it's the larger ones and lay them in row by row. The tiles should be a fiber based product, If they are indeed styrofoam though I don't know how well the tile would hold the weight but the frame will do fine.

Hello all. I'm about to head back to bed, but I thought I would check in. I have had a severe migraine for about a week and ended up in bed most of the day.

I made a deal with my husband. We are going to build breeding pens and separate out flock. This is what I was wanting, but in return i have to give something up. I agreed to give up my EEs and Americauna cockeral. I have two young EE pullets, one blue and the other splash. There is a young splash EE cockeral. The Americauna cockeral is also a splash. If anyone is interested, let me know.

I still have the extra roosters if anyone wants them.

Jeannie - my Buff ducks are laying already. We received two white eggs today and they are the only white egg layers other than the Pekin who has never stopped laying.

My RIR and RIR crosses are laying again also. I got 5 pretty eggs today out of 8 hens! I'm actually not sure if the hens are laying or if the younger pullets have started.

I am seriously waiting for the guineas to start laying again. I will have several different colors this year. Last year I only had Pearl, but I now also have White, Pied, and Lavenders. The younger one should lay this Spring. They are about 20 weeks old now, so it should be too much longer.

I have decided to keep my lone Serama pullet with the Silkies. They should be relatively the same size. If I end up with a Silkie rooster, will I get Silkies Seramas out of the mix? It doesn't matter to me either way, I was just curious.

Thank you, Thank you...I sure miss you folks. I would love to get together and visit. Sure don't need any more chickens...in fact we have got to get rid of some. Anyway, I had planned on getting on here a lot sooner but been on the phone discussing plans for our new house. Yeah! Things are finally getting settled at the attourney's office so we can start getting things done at my folks place for our new house.

Al, if you're going to bed now have a great night and a warm tomorrow.
