No, but with the problems that I have with my health, it's come up. And to be honest, I probably don't drink 5 gallons of milk a year, but the consensus almost across the board is to avoid raw cow's milk. Now goat's milk may be another story. I don't drink goat's milk because ... well ... I've tasted it.

This isnt Doc, But I will answer that....Lol...Its Renia.... No We Don't Drink Goats Milk, But Montana Had To Drink It As A Baby!

Yeah, my wife had to drink it as a baby too. I consider that child abuse. That stuff is just nasty.

I have no eggs. My MFCs aren't laying yet. But... looks like I'm in the market for pullets/hens. They need to be good layers, or from breeds that have a good history of laying. Too bad I don't like the barred look, or white chickens. *sigh*

LOL Stimp We have had goats that had really good milk. You can't expect a brush goat to have quality milk. It takes a lot of Alfalfa to make quality milk.

My sister likes goat's milk too. I tried it once. That was my limit.

No it is definitely brick. This house is over a hundred years old and mostly everything is original to the house. The drop ceiling my father-in-law put in many years ago to help with heating, because it has very high ceilings. However, when he did the drop down ceiling, he did so that somebody could easily take the out without having damage to the walls or frames. They are suspended with wires, which I am not sure would hold very well with insulation on top of the styrofoam ceiling panels. One of the things I keep discussing with the husband is we just need to gut this whole darn house, redo the wiring, reinsulate the walls and attack, actually we want to add a second story when we do this. I wish we could just insulate the attack, but with as old as the wiring is in this house I am afraid of a house fire happening bcs of the bare wires that are exposed up there.
What I think I really need to do is either win the lottery (first I have to buy a ticket and as a statistician I know those are not in my odds/favor), somehow get "This old house" to come out and do some sort of special on this old house (but I am not sure how that works and from what I see they don't come to Oklahoma), or take out some crazy loan and just get 'er done. But in all reality with me going to school full time and DH a school teacher we cannot afford to take out anymore loans, so I will just have to keep brainstorming. But I definitely think that we need to do some caulking or something immediately. I don't like being cold indoors. Now on the other hand this house isn't too bad in the summer time.

In my opinion YES very much so.......... but poultry and poultry related items. Farm related items usually means old junk and junk is what will appear. just sayin

Thanks so much for the information, We are discussing the Idea of just Once a month on the third, and will make a decision tonight! I kinda miss getting to go to all the other auctions myself. I just want to try to make everyone happy,

Well, I'm already happy. I don't mind you guys going up against Cement, but then I'm not a big buyer or seller and that is what you guys need to pack the house. Folks who will consistently bring in and buy birds.

Alex auction moved to Friday night at 7:00 so it doesn't compete with the big Blanchard auction. I don't know how that is working out, but it is a thought.

And I definitely don't mind farm related items, since I plan to farm more than chickens and turkeys some day soon and am looking for lots of different supplies. I think most chicken folks probably don't mind farm stuff either, since a lot of them own farms, but I don't know for sure. That could be a misperception.

I also wonder if you have considered a town farther south, farther away from Cement to pick up a whole new crowd, maybe drawing them across the Texas border. Walters is a nice little country town and within a half hour of both Texas and Lawton.

And about 20 minutes from my house.

Good luck with whatever you decide. I'm pulling for you guys. I like having options when it comes to buying and selling things, and I love supporting local markets.

Renia, what eggs are you looking for? Most of mine are laying.

I would definetely love to have some standard cochins... Partridge and Blues for sure if you have them.... Silver lace wyandottes, golden lace wyandottes, Araucana/Americanas... Standard heavy breeds....
