Due to casualties of our wicked winter weather, I'm searching for a few oegb replacement roosters, preferably as close to show quality as possible ... just not hatchery birds.

Wheaten
Crele
Blue

Oh, and I'm searching for a blue bantam rosecomb pullet and a white marans rooster too.

Being totally lazy today. Last week was a long week and since this is a three day weekend I will focus on what needs to be done later.

Uli is at work but should be home pretty soon, then we are going to hit the casino, come home watch a movie and eat leftovers.
How are you and Carl doing? Carl resigned to the fact you are getting ducks?? You know he is going to be wanting to get more when he sees how cute they are.
You are going to the auction, Yes? Have fun I am saving up for the Cement show and Fletcher auction at the end of the month when I will hopefully have more
money.

Prague, OK actually has a Czech festival the 1st Saturday in May.

prahg (Czech Republic)

Definitely not preg. Is that how they pronounce the Oklahoma city of Prague?

I set 22 eggs and and so far today I have 14 new chicks. I have a couple dozen more due on the 25th and I sent almost 5 dozen home with Carl and Steph to put in t heir incubator. With a little luck, I could have some pretty good numbers on the ground this spring. Oh yeah, I got the first set of twins I've ever seen just a while ago. I don't know if the egg was a double yoke or not, but I helped 2 tiny chicks out of it. It was pretty cool.

Congrats Stimp!

Twin chicks! You'll have to mark them so you can see later if they are identical or fraternal! That's amazing. Are they a lot smaller than the other chicks? You must post pictures! Please... That's so exciting.

That's a good idea. It never occurred to me to mark them. They are quite a bit smaller than the others, because the egg was just average sized. I'll have to post pictures when Satanica gets home. My camera and my phone are both in my pick-up and she drove it today.

Your chicks came from a double yolk egg. In the 90's I was hatching LOTS of emu...had 2 or 3 sets of twins, but could never save any of them because there was only one yolk and neither chick could absorb it because of the other chick. I have a lot of photos of them I can dig out of my closet and post when I get some time.
