Evening all. Well the rain is do in here within the hour. Had a couple of nice days tho. Had a guy come by yesterday and was going to buy some of my extra bantams. We ended up trading and I was thrilled with what I got. They were; two pair of crele OE(Wish I could get one to you Carla,I only need one roo!); a trio of blue golden OE; atrio of barred rock bantams;and a roo and 6 hens of quail OE! Oh and an extra belgian quail d'anver roo. So now I have d'anver and crele roo to get rid of. They are all nice birds,I will try and get pics tomorrow. So now I have ten different varietys of bnatams. I am going to have to get an incubatyor this year. And I am going to have to start making more pens!
I had 2 golden comets and an ancona that I hatched and decided to run them to the local auction today, figuring they would omnly bring a doller or two at the most for all three. I also took two pigeons I had gotten last fall at the silent auction of our pigeon show. They cost me $4 but turned out to be both males. So I took them since I can't find anyof their breed(pheasant pigeons).Well the young chicks brought $4.50 each and the pigeons brought $ 10 each! I was tickled!
I sat in disbeleaf as young filly, pony sise(already bigger than a shelt) ,halter broke and healthy brought $5!!!A burro brough $4.50!! The gots were worth more ,they were $25-$150!I told my wife ,if we can't move to Okla. then we at least have to get some acreage here so I can latch onto sales like that when they happen. She couldn't understand why we would want to!GRRRR!!!!Have pity on me,she has been out of her hormones for a week! (they got lost in the mail)I may be leaveing for Okla. sooner than planned!!LOL

If your wife's hormones are lost in the mail, I feel sorry for both of you. Unless she is diabetic, I recommed feeding her massive quantities of chocolate. That always helps me.

Wayne, I sure wish you were closer ... I'd sure like to do some trading or buying. Now if there were only some former army dump trucks or wreckers there for Gerald to see, we'd be taking a trip that way for sure. I'd love to go to an auction there, of course I'd need to bring a big critter hauling trailer with me to take home any treasures I might not be able to let go.

I can surely understand the hormone problem ... Gerald just looks at me & calls me "Cranky". It usually makes me laugh ... but then again, sometimes I feel like

Thanks, I am feeling somewhat better. I slept most of the afternoon and won't have any problem sleeping all night.
We pretty much broke even on the animals. I was pleasantly surprised that the goats sold for over $100 each, but disappointed that the llamas only brought between $30 and $60 each. The guy behind me in line to check out also sold llamas. He said he was downsizing because of not wanting to feed them all winter - so I guess this was the wrong time of year to be selling large animals.

I still have the main female llama who just had a cria a few weeks ago, so sometime in the future I will get another male llama and regrow my herd. They are such facinating creatures.

They miss the bombs getting on board but I bet they would find them eggs and throw us both in the pokey for terriosm!LOLEven if if they didn't the x-rays might do them in.!Good thought tho. May have to check in to the possiblity. They do have to ship them by plane when you mail eggs i would think.

Okarla Yeah I'm sure we could load you up with more fainters! I keep seeing them on craigslist!Oh well these roos aren't dubbed so wouldn't be showable. I am going to dub thme soon.which reminds me.....

Michael D... If you come back on and read this ,do you have a calendar that shows what would be a good date to dub? Know the signs need to be going down. Don't have a calendar with signs on it!

Naw they would probably put you on the watch list and never let you fly again, like that 3rd grade Boy Scout that gets frisked every time he flies.

I've heard of people flying to England to get real Aracauna eggs and bringing them back. My luck I would end up stranded in some TN prison for a few eggs. By the time I got a court date, they would be bombs.
