We have a show ring just outside the barn that you can put your children in and let them burn energy... We usually have a few kids that play just outside...

Come spring we may have to move to the open barn in the back.. that is twice the size of the one we are using now, then everyone has room to move and fresh air to bid in!!!

Sooner sorry I looked at your post and forgot about it, it is just a single horse bumper pull horse trailer, needs a little work has good tires and floors just needs some sandblasting and some painting.

Usually the wiring in a trailer runs overhead. Start pulling plug-ins and light fixtures and look for the one that is charred. They will often use the plug-ins for connectors by plugging into the back of them and it is better to do a connection and then branch off for the plug in. And if you find you have Aluminum wiring plan on a re-wire as it is unsafe when it gets age on it.

Ohhh, listen to Les about the aluminum wiring. My first home after leaving my parents home was an older trailer. Found out the hard way that it had aluminum wiring. My mom came by for me to go shopping with her and 2 minutes after I left our house caught on fire. The reason we knew what time it was by a miracle the electric went off and the fire stopped. The clock stopped 2 minutes after we left. The fire dept. said they had never seen anything like it and told us to get that wiring changed out.

Jim's the co-owner of the Blanchard auction, and I think he's alright, but we don't know him other than from the auctions. He mentioned his bottle calves to me when we brought our birds to them on Friday night. He aked if I wanted to trade some of our turkeys for bottle calves. I told him no ... we don't have room for cattle. Poor Gerald ... he wants to move & buy more land so we could have 'em.

Here's the auction ad on craigslist, but I don't know who's phone numbers are listed ... either Jerry's or Jim's or both possibly?

Moved all my chicken tractors this morning. The ground is still wet, but at least now the chickens are on fresh ground. I raked a big pile of leaves for each pen and threw them in. One pile had a field mouse in it, and I'd tossed him in with the leaves before I realized he was there. My biggest Light Brahma rooster caught him, but lost him, so I got to listen to him complain for nearly five minutes about the one that got away.

Maribeth: The new Speckled Sussex rooster is a big hit with the ladies, but he's an absolute patootie as far as his aggressive behavior towards me. I don't have to turn my back for him to come at me. He's a kicker, and he leads with his right, so I'm able to tell when he's about to kick me. He got me twice, but on his third attempt I grabbed that right foot before he could pull it back. I tucked him under my arm and finished cleaning and feeding for all the ladies in the pen, with him growling like a cougar the whole time. From now on, or at least until his attitude is adjusted, I'm going to chase him down and carry him while I'm in the pen. Maybe I can teach him to avoid me by letting him know that I'm not going to put up with his Karate Kid imitation. He is beautiful, but he needs a firm hand.

For those of you who went to Blanchard, tell stories and post pictures of the birds you bought. I feel left out.
