i can call around to a few places i know that might have it, is it 38spl/357mag, or just 38spl? you can also reload them if you do any of that,i have some for my 45 colt that i loaded with BB.

Mine is a Colt .38 Detective Special Revolver. Can it take the .38/.357 load, or do I have to find one for only the .38? Heck, maybe I should sell it an buy a small semi-automatic revolver to carry around once I get my conceal carry permit.

it is only capable of using the 38 special it may chamber the longer 357mag, but it is not built to handle the pressures of 357mag or 38spl+P, you will not be able to use the shotshells in a semi-auto pistol they will chamber but wont cycle the action, if you are familiar with a revolver i would stick with a newer one, but if you are fairly new to guns you could probably take up the semi-auto pistol, they offer more rounds for about the same size package. let me know if you decide to sell the revolver i need a good belly gun to have around.

they are either not running from them or confronting them and the coyotes are grabbing them, consider yourself lucky to have a chance to save any, any time i had coyotes bother anything they killed anything that moved and took what they wanted. but i have been extremely lucky the last several years that fences and dogs have kept them out, they use to get into the chicken coops but now they only try if the coops are open or chickens are out, same with bobcats and coons, but i didnt have my hounds then. the hounds arent even near some cages but i think there bark keeps everything at bay, i see tracks in the driveway and the field but not much trying to get near my chickens.

Our coyotes are sneaky and get one at a time. They are the reason that we now have a secure coop and attached run. But when they come in within 5 feet of my back door--it is time to eliminate some. Dang coyotes!

Well, I have to get to bed...church in the morning. G'nite Okies!

OK, thanks for the info. I sure don't want to get the bullets stuck in the chamber. That gun's too big for a belly gun. I think a hammerless snub nose would be the best

I was just looking at Gerald's .22 semi auto, and it takes .22 LR, but Cabella's is out of stock of that size ammo.

I'm torn between what would be better to carry ... semi auto with lots of magazines, but that could possibly jam, or a trusty fool-proof revolver, that can't hold much ammo? Maybe one of each

You need a good livestock guardian dog ... pyrenees, anatolian shepherd or komondor

I'm glad ya'll have power.

Oh, Gerald was saying today that he'd like a job plowing the roads. I told him he'd have to wait 'til he retires from Tinker first. I guess we need to ask Mike about that.

alot of people do carry two or even three guns, semi auto these days are pretty dang reliable just stick with a known brand and model, they have up to 8 shot 357mag revlovers these days. 22lr shot isnt worth much if you ask me if its all you got i guess it might work but it wont cycle the action, for snake gun i vote for the judge 410/45colt revolver, but if you only want one in a revolver a 38/357 with shot will work along with the 44spl/44mag, 45acp and the 45 colt.

he said its a waste of time and fuel right now because there is so much ice, all they are doing is pushing snow off and polishing the ice, but hey work is work in these times. i wouldnt mind running the roadgrader here in blanchard maybe i could do it right for a change.

these were the first belly guns a guy named FitzGerald used to cut down colt police positives to 2 inches and bob the hammers, he even had one he carried that he removed the triggerguard so he could get to the trigger faster, these were known as Fitz specials.

b52fizzle - thanks! I talked to Mike. He was out driving. All that talk of guns is getting me excited! Need to head that way and find me some pork chops! I have a buddy that is bail bonds man...he carries a snubby as a back-up on his ankle. I really want a .40...still trying to decide which flavor. Part of me likes the Glock but well...

oh...chickens!...I need an auction fix
