I don't think Teach has a cage big enough to hold him. I hear tell he is a big man.

well NOW i'm going to bed, after we went out to find the guineas who were making a big racket- so there we are poking around the bushes, one was in the creek, dave got him to get back in the tree, the other one is in the run- and all of them are spooked.... hot cocoa and sleep!

Well if you couldn't already tell, I'm in a very good mood.
Teen girl stuff is not always cool, but right now IT FEELS AMAZING

haha I'm such a dork, talking to myself in a post, how great is that?
Two birds to whom ever guesses the reasoning behind the excitement.
Naw just kidding,
I may get mad at my babies and threaten to give them up for adoption
(and sometimes I feel that that's exactly what they want),
but there's no way I could give up my fluffy butts.

Ok, off to bed, that's enough for this week,

I used to do that, but then you have a hole to hide if you are trying to put them in to a bowl or basket for decoration.
I actually discovered the dehydration method by accident, more than 25 years ago. I worked with someone who had access to Americauna eggs and I would put them in the frig, with the intention of blowing them out and taking them to my mother, who used to have a stuffed fabric chicken sitting on eggs as a decoration. One dozen of them got left in the vegetable drawer in the refrigerator in the garage and instead of tossing them, I just left them alone and forgot about them. When I finally decided that the eggs needed to be tossed, because they surely must be rotten, they had no odor and were very light weight. I cautiously opened one up and found the yolk dried to one side of the shell and no odor.

Since I have been keeping chickens, whenever there is an exceptionally pretty egg, I put it in a dish or cardboard carton in the garage frig, out of site of anyone who might be looking for eggs to eat, and just leave it. It is amazing how fast a year goes by (if I thought to date the carton). I have dehyrated quail eggs, light blue eggs, guinea eggs, turkey eggs and cute "practice eggs" in jars and baskets for decoration, at my house and at my office. I also have a basket of eggs that have a hole in one end, displayed in a basket, that I try to keep turned so that the hole is to the bottom and not visible.

Stray - glad to see that you are in a good mood and enjoying being a teenage girl.

If you do decide to get a duck, be sure to get unmedicated chick starter to feed it, since the medicated feed is poisonous to ducks.

I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree. I saw that alot of guys in Texas won't put beans in their chili. But they are from Texas and therefore they are naturally slow.

I don't hold that against them tho.

-Stimp-

They wanted to be a country all to themselves.... & perhaps they should have been.

The wife wanted to go for a walk this past summer on our country roads. We passed by a house about a mile away from us & there were a few kids playing out in the yard and gent about my age working on the front of the house. He was wearing a black or blue t-shirt and in big white letters were the words "BORDER PATROL". Jokingly I yelled out at him "So ya keeping all them Texans on their side of the line??". He just smiled and said yea.

As we passed further along the front of his property and in front of his driveway my wife pointed out the Texas license plate on his truck, DOH!!

lol... just your luck.

did I tell you all about Annabell's b-day party?
She had it at the dino museum in Normen... The kids
all brought a chick or two in some cases from Atwoods.
It was a real hoot!! Kids and parents that never got to do
that ever had a real fun time picking them out. AnnaBell came
home with a HUGE smile and 19 chicks.. She kept saying "how
did they know?"
