At the Fletcher auction last night, I purchased an Americauna hen with lovely slate legs and gorgeous feathers sweeping back from her beak like angel wings or a handlebar mustache. Today, she layed an egg for me. In a lovely shade of tan, rather than blue or pink or green.

She is still pretty, but I wonder how many generations it would take to get a blue egg layer with her pretty facial feathers. I have several Americauna roosters, so we shall see.

We are looking for some more Roeun ducklings and Silkie chicks. hint hint
Atwoods in Clinton didn't have either breed. I will check Atwoods in Elk City after work tomorrow. I finally have room in the brooder for more chicks, thanks to my good buddy Roy. He ended up clearing out almost 30 birds from here this weekend. Now I get to focus on the breeds I really want. I stioll have to get rid of some more birds, but I want to get some more layers first. Of course all of this will have to wait until I move and get new pens built.

woo hoo i found some white leghorn chicks today and they gave me a deal on them 1.00 each , so i bought 12 today and going back probally thursday for a doz or two more lol and then some eggs to hatch lol , they offered to sale me some hens but they wanted 15.00 each and that is more than i wanted to pay but i will probally end up doing it if i cant find anymore


now i just need to find some bantam crosses or pures with about the same featherings as a serma , rose comb, oegb,sebright , to put with my self blue red pyle oegb cross roo , i dont care if they are pure since he isnt pure for color that is

It was everything I could do not to walk out of Atwoods with milk replacer. Because if I would, I would have definitely bought a doeling or two at Blanchard next weekend. Which would probably be bad

Oh, should have the Ideal order by Friday... so I'll be PM'ing the people who went in on it with me when the chicks actually arrive.
