As for the upcoming Cement auction, if the weather is good, I intend to bring some 3 month old Spitzhauben pairs, possibly a Brabanter pair and some 6-7 week old Jersey Giants. My boyfriend is trying to convince me to sell the silkies ... they are now on strike because I've stolen all their eggs. I guess I could give my silkies some Brabanter eggs to hatch!

Countyroad, I'll send you a PM

Okiechick, the spitzhaubens should sell fairly cheap ... they're still young! The've got a few more months before they begin laying - except for one laying hen ... if she continues to peck us when we collect eggs .... she's going to take a trip to Cement!

Okiechick & Countyroad, I'll give you a couple of Brabanter eggs each ... if you come to the Cement auction.

I may have some silkie chicks hatching on the 27th. I don't have my silkies separated by color, so they could be black, blue, partridge, buff or white ... or something in between.

I know Monty.chances are I wont make it either............. am going to try and make the harrah one though.since the ducks are still with me........ got to make room for my chickens....... you going to make it this week ?

I am very interested in your free birds. Where abouts do you live? I live in Salina, and I will be at the Pryor show. Could I get some adult pics from you? Im just not sure about the 1/2 blue d`uccle and 1/2 blue silkie never heard of that before, do you have any pure silkies? Or copper black marans?

I have a really weird request...could I come visit someone's coop and chickens? *blush*

My little suburban yard has a spot for a coop and city ordinances do allow for chickens in Tulsa. But I've got some personal questions that won't get answered unless I'm actually around chickens for a little bit. (mess, noise, clean up, will my allergies flare around the feathers, etc.)

Or, would it be best for me to try to make it to a poultry show even though that wouldn't be "true to life"?

Just find some folks on the Okie list and ask them. There are several near Tulsa. I am a long way from you but I bet there are some close by you.

Ill take them! I will be at the pryor show. So you are just getting rid of the 2 hens and no roos right? What time will you be at the show? What time does the show start? I wanted to go to the 412 auction that morning but, Im not sure what time the show starts in pryor.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I just got off the phone with Sherri Breeden, who's husband runs the Mcalester poultry show, and she said, "I'm sorry. We aren't having a show this year" All I wanted to say was "nooooooooo!" but I said, "Oh:( Okay."

Chickenhead - It is a show in Pryor this weekend, which means judging will probably start at 8:00 am. There's usually a section for people to sell their birds, or you can just find them around the building.

Anyone else going to the Cement auction this Saturday? I know Carla is going. I plan on being there between 4:30 and 5:00 (doors open at 3:00, auction starts at 5:00).
