Tonight we decided to go out and eat. Well we haven't ate a Olive Garden in YEARS! so I said lets go there.
We walk in my son's eyes got BIG and when we was seated he looked at me and said "Mom this place is FANCY"
They took our order and he unrolled his napkin and OH MY there was 2 forks!! What is the other fork for??
We chuckled at him all the way through dinner about how "FANCY" the Olive Garden was.
When we left he said "That was the best food I ever ate and it wasn't even out of a box!!"

I looked at my hubby and said we have to get him out of the woods more!!

He is a TRUE redneck, he has been on TV talking about the tornado that hit here last summer.

Welcome to the club, I took my two year old girl fishing at our pond the other day. Only caught a few small bass, but did land one with her little Dora rod, she brought him in with my help. I asked her if we should throw it back, since it was only about 6 inches long, and she told me no, put it on the wall. Apparently she has increased her vocabulary when I watch the outdoor channel.

Gotta love them kids
My HUGE 10 yr old and Big Ol' hubby sit together in his lazy boy and watch the outdoor channel together. If they ain't watching that it's Andy Griffith, the good black and white ones.

We go on "adventures" and look for "treasures" together. The other day we found owl vomit! It was really COOL, it had the fur covering with claws and bones and stuff.

Speaking of "treasures" someone was telling me that if anyone found indian artifacts that they automaticly become the property of the state?? We use to find arrowheads all the time as kids. And I would love to take the kiddo "treasure" hunting. But i don't want the state to get our loot.

Well I hope not, we have found some pretty things - at least to us they are neat.
What we are REALLY wanting to find is antler sheds. You know when bucks lose thier horns. We have searched all over our 75 acres and have yet to find any. We will try the 80 acres of river bottom next. You would think as many deer as we see we could at least find somthing!

My friend just saw a big buck still carrying headgear. They should be dropping great by next month. My brother just found an amazing skull mount in a creek bed, i cant remember exactly how big, 10x10 or around that. Squirrels and other little critters chew them up fast and this one only had minimal damage to it. Ive heard of people making feeders and strategicaly placing a strand of wire so it hits the antlers and increases the chance of them falling off around the feeder. You need to be careful to make sure a deer could not tangle itself up though.

Ronnie - if you're interested in that stuff....look around your
place. We're over here right on 14-mile creek. 70-80 years
ago, the Indian Pow-wows were held up and down this
creek. You'll notice the slight mounds in the fields between
your place and ours. Those were the old campgrounds.
There's worlds of Indian history right through here. Bill's
Dad was four years old when they came to "Gideon" in their
covered wagon in 1909. Each respecting the other, there
weren't any problems. Would have been an interesting era to
have lived.

But, with TJ, I'll stay where I am and hold my dishwasher and
clothes washer dear to my heart.

Have a good one !

G'd Morning Ronnie,
I found a pair of big shed antlers a few years back. They wer sticking in the side of the creekbank. I think when he jumped down into the creek bed his antlers jarred loose and just stuck there.
Either that or he was ready to get them off and just rammed them into the bank. i also found a nice ten point rack with skull attached last year.

I dont know when ill see my brother again, it will be a long time. Usualy only holidays and they only 45 minute away lol. When I do ill take a photo, this mount is unbelivable to me. Also for anyone shed hunting ifyou find one look hard for the second one, when one comes off they usualy lose the other one not far away. Its annoying with the unbalance i belive and they knock it off on purpose then. A dog or two realy increases the odds of finding a shed, or in my case turtles.

Oh you guys have me encouraged that we will find sheds. The dogs always on our "adventures". We have a bRat terrier, a beagle/terrier mix and a shunauzer(sp?)
We have baseball sign ups tonight but tomorrow afternoon we are going hunting!! We will walk the creek all along our property then head to the river bottom.

Oh man is today nice!! Is is slightly cloudy and the air feels WONDERFUL, like it is going to rain. I have the windows open and listening to the sounds of nature!!

May everyone be blessed with lots of eggs today!!
