Okies in the BYC The Original

No, my son and his family dropped by so I went in to visit with them for awhile.

I've used a .270 for the last 30 years. It's still and will probably always be my favorite all around caliber.

I prefer a bolt action over a lever or an autoloader.

That said, I am about to buy a new rifle. It will be a Ruger #1, in .308 win. And by the way, the Ruger #1 is a single shot. I'm doing this because I just gave my .270 bolt action to my son this year. I'd feel a little silly buying another one just like it.

Not a problem - at least once I went outside so that I could hear you. It is nice that we have a network of Okies in the BYC at the auctions.

Did you see the thread here where someone was gonna buy an incubator that burns coal.
Now that is a hard core hatchaholic.

"Hey since your up do ya mind stoking the incubator."

MOnty...my wife is running me off but you can take the credit!

Stimpy - it wouldn't be that silly...my father-in-law wanted a gu nlike his budies so he got one for some gift giving moment...anyways...exactly like it (that is important) then a few years later the friend wants to get rid of it...guess who bought it...when asked why...well...John or Roy might need to borrow a gun...like there weren't a couple other choices! Guess who has said gun now

That would definately be an incubator that would have to be kept outdoors or in a very well ventilated barn.

I have to admit however that I am somewhat jealous of the purchase that was made this weekend (by Quenston?) of an incubator that runs on kerosene. My mother tells me that her mother used that kind of incubator. I have some of my grandmother's chicken waterers and egg baskets, but would love to have a kerosene incubator - just for the novelty of it. And yes, my mom said they used to go out and check on it in the middle of the night.

Night Monty. Sweet dreams. Maybe you will dream up the most wonderful chicken pen set up - and be fortunate enough to remember what it was long enough after you awaken, to write it down.

Do they free range? I have some missing too but they were in pens. I have checked everything and can't find a place where anything could get in. It is a mystery for sure.

Aliens! First cows, now chickens!

Get him an Oklahoma lifetime hunting license and then he won't even need to buy tags if he is hunting in Oklahoma.

That's true. I gave him all my reloading equipment when I gave him the rifle. I guess I should buy his license too.
