It is probably too much of a gun for the whitetails I hunt but its what I use. I have killed several with it and I have only had one that didn't drop where he was standing.

Stimpy, I am thinking about redoing all of my pens too. I was wanting to start in the fall and was hoping for a mild winter where I could have been outside working on it but we know how that went. Now I will just have to do a section at a time. But I still might have to downsize.
Who ever heard of downsizing in the spring?

is that the rumor

I think a coyote got Sooner and Lou probably slipped some nyquil in Stimpy's diet cream soda or whatever that stuff is he drinks.

I think they said 52 dozen White Rock eggs. Jim sounded pretty miffed about it. I would be too, if I bought that stuff and tried to eat it at home, or worse, feed it to my kids.

Funny thing was I was walking around before the real auction (while they were selling all the junk I mean food I mean junk food) and saw the two containers of water with the words "Egg Tester" on the side and thought someone had played a practical joke, getting them to auction off two tupperware containers of water.

I saw the "Egg Tester" containers myself and thought someone was trying to be silly by putting up plastic containers of water for auction. Sounds like the "Egg Tester" will be helpful to avoid old eggs- I had to explain to Hubby how the eggs would tend to float at the bottom with the round end away from the bottom if they had a large air sack.

Unfortunately, the person who bought the Blue laced red Wyandotte eggs laid by a hen that has been away from her rooster for two weeks - may have not only eggs that are older than a week old, but the newer ones are not likely to be fertile.

I got the ancient brooder set up and transferred the auction chicks to it this evening. I have eggs hatching in the bator, so will put those chicks into the makeshift brooder in the house. Need to look at the dates on the ones that hatched - I went ahead and put eggs set three different days in at the same time, so if it is the ones set on the 6th that hatched, the older ones need to get tossed out before they become explosive material.
