My ducks and guineas have always layed in the coop. They started on their own and I approve. The chickens, on the other hand, have started laying in the hay bale in the garage.

so will they lay them and walk off?? mine are spending lots of time in a couple areas, wonder if they are stashing eggs?

Good morning everyone. It looks like the sun is shining, because I can't see a thing. My kitchen windows face the East and that sun is blaring it. It shines directly on my recliner and blinds me. Oh well, sun = warmth. I guess I can live with temporary blindness.

I haven't made any decisions yet. I looked at the event calander for the Ford Center. Everything that would have interested him was on a weeknight. We can't do weeknights. DH and I have work the next morning and both kids have school. I don't think I want to stay at an event until 10:00 or 1:00 at night, drive two hours home, get up for work at 4:00, stand on my feet for 10 hrs, deal with cranky patients while at work, then deal with cranky kids after work. I will just have to find something else. I'm wondering if the playhouse in Elk City is doing anything. I tried to look at future events, but didn't see anything appealing either. Well there was one, but tickets for everyone was gonna cost over $1000. That was without inviting a friend for him. I love my kids, but he ain't gettin' that. He actually enjoyed the few that we've been to, but they don't have them very often. He really likes science and there is a science camp at the local college every summer. I am already paying $500 for him to attend next summer. It is a two-week program and if he goes three years, he gets free tuition to that school when the time comes. I think it is worth it, plus he will enjoy it. He was supposed to go last year, but my DH's grandma passed away at the same time.

Yes, they will lay an egg each day in the same place and mine tend to have several lay in the same place each day. After about 10 days of accumulating eggs in the same place, a duck or guinea may go ahead and get broody, sometimes two females will tend the same nest. As long as I am gathering the eggs however, they won't be as likely to go broody over 2-3 eggs.

Morning Everybody!

Seems like everyone is doing fine from what I was able to catch quick scanning the last three days of posts. Been uber busy getting ready for the trip and of course it is the end of the 9 weeks so getting grades together as well. Of course I also just got a new student and have a meeting tomorrow for another new student. Yeah!!!

Plan to go to Blanchard Saturday!! Look forward to seeing all my BYC friends, playing with birds and of course the nachos.

I relised yesterday it has been three weeks since I have been to an auction. No wonder I have been so cranky, withdrawls are really bad.
