Hi ya'll. Does anyone around the Chickasha area have Rhode Island Red hatching eggs for sale? I have an ad on craigslist for hatching eggs for sale and someone contacted me asking for RIR hatching eggs for an Easter hatching for Epworth Methodist Church in Chickasha.

I seem to have almost every other kind of chicken, but no Rhode Island Reds. Anyway, if someone does & wants to sell a dozen eggs to this guy, send me a pm and I'll give you their contact info.

I've got to run now. Maybe I can post later tonight after I get to work. We passed our inspection at work!!!! We were EXCELLENT! Now I can take my laptop computer back to work and visit with everyone again!

I've got problem (I think) with a couple of bantams, thought I would post it here & see if anyone has seen this before. These bantams are isolated from all other chickens, so I'm only seeing this in these two.

A few weeks ago I noticed a hen was making a strange sound. She kinda sticks her neck out and makes a loud single syllable squawking sound. Yesterday I noticed that her rooster has started doing it now. I dunno if this is just something that she just does or if this is some kind of sickness setting in, nor do I know if the rooster is just imitating her or what, but it's odd.

Neither seem to be droopy or look sick in any way, rooster might be draggin his tail a little, but nothing obvious. It does look a little strange, they stick there necks out really far when they make this loud sqwuak.

Any ideas? Am I just being to much of a mother hen? (ha!)

motherhenning ain't all bad! We were talking about this awhile back...like a long while back...of course this falls under details and well...I ain't that person...Les is the man whenit comes to this...P&B has that sheet...which I have one but I put it somewhere safe...very safe...I can't find it

It could be gape worm (check their throats for small "red lines"), it could be a variety of "colds", it could be some form of allergies, or it could be a coincidence. I would separate them from the other birds for now, and wait for Les to get online and give you better advice

Grace!!! what is going on our resident way more mature than she should be person! Got huge plans going yet for prom? Gonna break some poor lad's heart?

My kids are about to get stupid over that stuff. The seniors are all ticked at the juniors and talking smack on them. Part of it is deserved...the juniors are all boys...3 of them...decorating and romance arent exactly their top skills. they had to be convinced that burgers and hay bales would not work...I might have given them the idea but I had help!

Roy, things are going great! I'm spending my spring break (well the evenings, anyway) teaching a lot of kids the music class at a local church. But it's really pretty fun, because I get to be with my friends, and I love music classes!
A school not far from here is actually doing a cowboy themed senior banquet (prom type thing). But, no prom for me.

that is so cool Grace. I avoid singing...and most folks encourage me to avoid it as well! Only fools like MOnty and Al and Q want me to sing! folks that can sing and paint put me in awe. I can't do either...my students will tell you that When I draw stuff on the board they start taking bets as to what it is...I throw things...just a bit of advice...never draw a sea cucumber...it doesn't look like the animal..well it did...but the animal looks way too much like poop

Good hens are hard to come by. If I had a surplus I'd help you out, but I'm rather short on supply!
