Oh wait, the sunfresh Flock Raiser stuff says that it can do ducks from hatch, so does that mean unmedicated?

If so, I've got a bag o' that in my living room! <don't ask>

I'll probably still get the bag from Tractor Supply too.

The only Purina flock raiser crumbles I have been able to find says it is medicated. Maybe they are using something that isn't harmful to ducks for the cocci medication?

I'm doublechecking what I have in the living room, but I'm pretty sure it's the exact same stuff.

Do you have a brooder designed specifically for buttons? All my "regular" brooders have screen floors and a button would fall through the floor very easily. I have been thinking about going back to my original style brooders for any buttons I hatch - rubbermaid tub with a heat lamp. I have the only button that hatched from the last batch in the bottom of the big incubator, in a box with food and water.

I have been feeding all my babies such as chicks, quail, ducks, all of them game bird starter.. They do fine on it.. actually they are healthier and fatter and grow about twiced as fast as being on regular chick starter

I will have to check the bag of all flock raiser I just got to feed the quail, pheasants and peacocks, but the tag has a lighter word across it like a water mark that says "med"

I have a 100 gallon stock tank that I use for all my newbies.. it works great until they learn to start flying at about 2 - 3 weeks of age. by that time they are big enough to go in my brooder cage that is made out of rabbit wire.

P&B - I ussually put them in a 10 gal aquarium with a desk light on top of the bator. I use rocks and such in the water deal because they want to be ducks and well...aren't...I have had them stick their head between marbles to drown so I stopped using marbles. After a couple days they go play with the big birds...they seem to do fine...I got told I was not so smart but i don't put them with ducks....it has been my experience that ducks are mean and stomp them....that is just me...

Mine doesn't... I just checked. Even has a picture that says it's good from hatch to 10-18 weeks. I have the exact same bag that's in that picture too. I don't see that watermark type print.

I admit, I'm just not too comfortable with it, because they sell their medicated and unmedicated in bags that look so similar that it would be too easy to mix up (at least for me
