Great to see you.
I just got home from the Jones auction. We left as they were selling cows. The horse tack, junk and other horse stuff took forever - they didn't start selling saddles until after 9:30.

Talked briefly with Joyce and Teva - I was going to bid on a couple of things until I realized Teva was bidding so that helped me exercise restraint. I did still end up with some feeders that will probably make their way to POOPS. Teva gave me some great advice on feeding bottle goats. Sure wish I had talked to her two months ago about that subject. I could have saved a lot of time and expense.

I am impressed with the size of your goat herd. Yes, you will undoubtedly need to bottle feed at some point. Teva is going to bring the modified calf bucket and the style of bottle nipple she uses with a calf bottle, to show me at POOPS. I just used regular baby bottles and standard human baby nipples and it was a pain to have to refill the bottles several times for each goat. She also indicated she feeds them cow's milk from the grocery store instead of buying multi-species milk replacement powder, which I used and was apalled at how much it cost me to feed two bottle bucklings until they would eat grain.

I guess in the past when I have had bottle babies, it was only one at a time so it didn't seem like the milk powder was used as rapidly as it was this time around.

Good night Carla - hope you get to feeling better quickly.
Dean has been coughing for a month now, but the doctor only changed his antihistamines since the x-rays were normal and his tests for TB and some disease you get from chickens came back negative. (wouldn't that have been something I would have never lived down - if he had tested positive for a chicken lung disease

) I have been coughing for two weeks but just keep taking Musinex and cough drops. Fortunately, I haven't felt sick, just tired. My cough is finally getting better.

Thank you.... Talk about a long day. I havent had a chance to hold her yet. Carl and I are going back up to the hospital this morning.
There were so many family members there and 4 new sets of grandparents. Everybody got along great except for my daughter's mother's side. They were butts to everyone. her aunt tried telling carl and I that we could not go back and see our daughter. We decided to leave the hospital for a little bit instead of get in an agruement.

Ooh Steph....I can't believe you didn't blow a gasket....someone trying to tell me I couldn't go see my daughter is fighting words. Well, maybe not fighting but I sure would have been like a red tomato about to explode. I understand you trying to keep things under control for your daughter's sake but oh man I would have been furious. Is this your first grandbaby? Oh there's nothing like being a grandparent. LOVE IT!

oh my I think I would have a problem with someone telling me I couldn't see my own daughter, but it was very good of you to let it go & not cause your daughter any more stress, she will thank you for it.
