Yeah Rebecca the the whole junk auction deal is just a died in the wool Okie thing that will never stop, and it's fine I just won't go, can't do the junk deal LOL. All of the livestock auctions are the greatest when not mixed with Grandma's old shoes for sale LOL. Have a good Sunday Girl.

Alright everyone, now get those requests turned in. Someone may have what you want!!!

Hello all. After being awake most of the night and sleeping in this morning, we worked on finishing Jordan's castle for school. We finally got the due date and are right on schedule. We had some leftover pizza for lunch and are about to head over to the other house to do some more work. The contractors should be there soon. I finally set up my incubators today. I am tryig to figure out how I want to hatch this Spring. I've never done a staggered hatch, but am considering it. We finally started to get some quail eggs, so all of them are going in the incubator. I will be hatching Rouens, RIR and Coturnix. Should be fun. Hope everyone enjoys the day.

Jim : No sir you are not Imagining it, I came too early and had to sit through a few minutes of people buying dented cans of outdated groceries, I prefer to buy my groceries off the shelf as opposed to the dumpster LOL. Well Jim all the junk is just getting worst or a sign of desparity I don't know, I just try not to pay attention to it anymore.

I'm not talking about before the poultry auction. I'm talking during. Sewing machines? Guns? Fans? Interior house light fixtures?? Water heaters??? Sunglasses??!! Good lord, it was ridiculous.

My guests, who were first time auction goers, were bored to tears. As were we.

I'm reconsidering whether that long drive is even worth it. Maybe it is time for that trip to Mountain View for goats, and just stick with Fletcher and Cement for poultry.

Maybe I'll give it one more shot and see how it goes.

I remember the Coral Sea. I left Alameda for The Rock in March, 1975. Got to Alameda in Feb of 73.

I guarded nukes in what was called Alpha Area for part of that duty. Used to sit in the tower and watch ships come in and leave. Right next to the landing strip where all the fighter jets took off and landed.

The only ship in port I ever visited was the Enterprise. I was a big Star Trek fan in my youth.

See ya laters~!!!!

Thank you Beth.
On another note, I just went back up to the coop. Found the third egg of the week, and it was cracked. This it the second egg we've gotten since they started laying eggs again that had something wrong with the shell. The other one had a perfect circular hole in the top of it. Was is the cause of this?

I'm so tired.... J and I got the birds out of the coop into a big wire kennel, rolled the coop end over end to the middle of my yard, re-attached all the wire that the terror/terrier had popped loose of the bottom of the coop, cleaned off the perches and sprayed it out, put in the new nesting box that J made (2 compartments) plus the old nesting box (single compartment) so that the broody hen isn't taking up the only nesting box. Put new pine on the shelves/in the boxes, didn't put any down on the floor because the grass in my back yard was up to mid-calf so I knew they were gonna go to town about eating it, so I decided to let them tear it out first. Of course, the spot MAY have been chosen for the high concentration of ragweed that grows there...

I had to get it done because I had 2 more MFC pullets to introduce to the flock, and it's easiest to do that (in my opinion) in a clean, fresh environment. There seems to be less dramatic pecking and the new ones are accepted faster.

I had to clean/bleach the inside brooders because one of my runner ducklings died today. I fed/watered them, they were all fine. J and I were looking them over. Half hour later, J says "What's wrong with this one?!" all concerned. One of them had a bulging crop and had fallen over. Less than 10 minutes later, it was dead. So I took the rest of them out, put them in the backup bin, cleaned and bleached the primary brooder, dried it, and put new bedding in it. Transferred them back, and while they were checking it out again I cleaned/bleached their feeders and waterers. That was freakishly fast, to have gone from "no noticeable problem" to "keel over dead" that fast...
