I highly recommend it. It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

Stimp, You are so Right. Fly fishing, 5 minutes to learn, a lifetime to master. My Grandpaw taught me to fly fish when I was only 5 years old. If ever you need to relax, go fly fishing and let all of your troubles float away. Of course, we did our fly fishing in streams and creeks in Oklahoma. Now Mountain Fork River has the trout fishing covered for Oklahoma. Those Texicans come up and spend BIG money to catch a planted trout. I always loved catching a big blue gill in a creek and watch it bend the pole. Simpler times back then.

Teach, if you like snakes that much, the next time I catch a 6+ coontail, I'll let you have it. We usually relocate them to the west range on post. But, I'll bet I could get you a decent one if you want it.

Although I would love a diamond back...my wife has outlawed all poisonous snakes until I have a seperate building that I can lock and control...I guess it is a good idea but...kinda fun hater i fyou ask me....I would like one frozen! It would be great to show the difference between them and our little praire rattlers! Need one of them?

I really do love snakes and usually try and keep them alive which gets me wierdest looks around here! Folks just don't realize what they do to the rat and mouse populations

I learned in lakes and streams here in Oklahoma too. I used to love flingin' popping bugs at bass Heck, I still do. And bluegill will always hit an artificial ant, red or black, and put up a great fight. But I was in Colorado many years ago and wanted to see what all the fuss was about. I caught a rainbow that went about 14 - 16 inches and I was ruined forever. I can't seem to outgrow it or find a cure for it. Every time we plan a vacation, or just a long weekend trip, I always use the stream reports to plan my routes. I love that stuff.

Teach,

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess that most people would probably rather have the rats and mice than the snakes that eat them. I can always set a trap for the mice.

Nope, I have all of them I need plus some. Back home in Broken Bow my friend is the park naturalist for Beavers Bend St Park. When I was home he asked me to give the snake demonstrations for him to a group of Boy Scouts. He just isn't that well adjusted to handling snakes. I absolutely fell in love with 2 of the park's snakes. One was a 7+ ft coach whip and the other was a speckled king snake. Of course the first kid to come up and wanting to pet her (female speckled king snake) was a 3 year old girl, no inhibitions about touching it and grown people falling all over themselves to get away. I laughed my hinney off.

Stimp, not to be a wise cracker, but, most people don't know how many mice and rats snake consume in a year's time. If it wasn't for snakes, there aren't enough traps to catch all of the rats and mice.
I get so mad when people swearve their vehicles to run over a snake that is so beneficial to everyone. The speckled king snakes primary diet is poisonous snakes. I've seen a 5 ft speckled king kill and eat a 6 ft rattler.

Oh, I'm just giving Roy a hard time. We all have our likes and dislikes that others may or may not agree with. Besides, I have never seen any evidence that Roy cares what anyone else thinks about him and/or his snakes.

Night all.
