One each: black star, golden salmon marans, light brown leghorn, and gold laced wyandotte. then 5 mfc hens/pullets, 2 cockerels. There are no eggs under the broody cochin.

Need some eggs to put under her?

I've been seriously considering it... don't think she's gonna stop any time soon.

Just spent the last half hour undoing a huge tangled knot... my daughter decided that she wanted to learn to wind yarn on my ballwinder. Except she didn't ask and of course didn't know how. She's lucky she's cute... that huge knot was of my handspun that I spun on my wheel...

Evening everyone! Sounds wet back there! We had a very small rain early this morning but I still had to water the flowers today. Its cooled down, supposed to get in the 40s tonite but back up to seventy tomorrow.
Had a very nice visit with TJ's Bill this morning. He is such a nice guy. Sorry he and Eulaine won't be able to make it to the poops. But we are going to meet somwhere in the Webers fall area to drop off some barred rock bantams for them. He even gave me some tips on places to see in the Ammarillo area.He seems to be a very knowledgeable person about very many topics. I hope the rocks make them some good show birds.
Iam anxiously awaiting another broody to go to setting. I have several different breeds going and hope to hatch a few from each. You know I was thinking,it sure shows that we are a bunch of hatch minded people because with all the chickens we have no one has offered to bring deviled eggs yet! Maybe thats because they spoil esay,I just thought it was funny.

Poor Al I remember those days when the little princecess starts doing those things. It brakes your heart, you want them to be little princesses forever!

could one of them be eating them?

Hey Tara is it raining there? My hunting buddy is up on the lease turkey hunting. I am just curious if he is getting wet.

Not really. I mean it rained, but it wasn't pouring down or anything.

what kind of wool was it? That sounds interesting.

It was a Romney wool that was blended on my drumcarder with 20% silk. Finished product looked like this:

Please ignore the fact that my hanks always look lopsided.

Oh, and proof that I did indeed spin that...

Someone made deviled eggs at one of the previous POOPS. I think it might have Na Na and her crew and others . Anyway they made them there that day so they were safe.
We will certainly miss Bill and Na- Na and the kids.
They have been a huge part of making our events great.
I hope they can come to the next one.

Was just down on the hatching egg thread. Top sellers are lavender Orpington eggs,13 plus 9 split for eggs for $91 ! Next was $60 for some redlaced blue bhramas. I think I'm raiseing the wrong breeds!

Faeri that must be a really cool feeling to be able to make the Thread(yarn) that you would actually use to make something with. Thats self-suffecient all the way. Wow!
