It looks like there are 29 of them left out of the 35--they're the tiny ones--they're yours if you want them. You'll be at POOPS, won't you?

Has anybody heard of doing this? I was told today that if you take the chickens water away for 1 week then they will start laying bigger eggs. The person I heard it from said they used to live in up north with over 200 chickens and they did it up there but there was a certain time you could only do this. Any thoughts?////

Come on that just plain dumb
You don't get eggs from dead chicken period in summer or winter. Chickens need water. I worry if they don't have it for even a part of a day but a week?

prayin for stimpster here too!

had a suprise visit from the grandkids- so got not much done but quality time with em...

they are facinated with chickens but are afraid to crack open an egg in case there is a chick in there..

the ducklings are on strike, don't want to come in for the nite- they are 5 weeks old, can they handle the nite temps?

and our redneck gardens...

Yep I give the metal of the day for even having the guts to post such a question but it in the main form.

Hey ya'll...long time no write! It's been a long time since I've been on the BYC site and so much has happened in our family. We have officially moved...temporarily with my folks in Stroud, while we find a house in Prague, OK. My husband is now a police officer there and I'm working at Unity hospital in Shawnee, OK. Because of the moving, I am now chicken and duck free, having relocated my flock to a friend in Wilburton..they are in good hands now. Not sure if I'll be able to ever have more chickens inside the city limits of Prague...I'm sure going to miss my fresh eggs and my chickens.

Mom moved her chickens over to my sister in law's house next door, so all the birds and other farm life is over there, except for the baby steer that we have on our side. We still like hatching some chicks, so we had some in the incubator the last few weeks and got two to hatch out the end of last week. They are now over with sis in law now. I think mom's got some silkie eggs in the incubator now...along with some guinea eggs.

I hope everyone is doing well. I've thought of ya'll a lot over the last year...since last years POOPS event. I see the next one is next weekend...unfortunately it's the same day as the Kolache Festival in Prague and I have to work that night at the hospital...so I'll not be able to make it, even though we live closer now. Have fun!!

Sonya

Hey Stimp, I thought you said you were in your cell and I was confused for a minute since Donna said you were in the hospital.
Just know that you are in my family's prayers. God is watching over you.
