I'm so sorry this happened to your flock, okiegirl. I understand wanting to know for sure before you cull. I cull when I determine that the chicken is not going to get better and/or I am unable (or unwilling) to give it the special attention it will need, as in the case of a disabled bird. Others on here will have other opinions, so of course you must decide for yourself.

I think what we need is to keep Teach on a leash! Since Doc Henry is closest kin I guess he'll have to keep Teach within 6 ft of him!LOl I've heard he has bitten several and given them chicken addiction!

Nursing homesa like where my wife works get yearly state inspections. Hers was totally forgooten last year! So Guess who showed up today to start a week long inspection!

I don't need no stinking leash!

Well, the youngest just lost privleges...again...thus no POOPS for him. Guess we will have bawling tonight.

I cull about like City recommends...sounds like that bird falls into that category...sorry. I understand about dogs and birds not mixing.

I have feeling this will be my first culling experience.

I hate this, I hate this, I hate this.......

I'll give her until Friday to show some improvement. I'll be bring home some 8 week old chicks from POOPS, so it will be best to not have a disabled bird in the mix of the introductions.

keep picking...I love it

It seems the little guy couldn't do his work today...it was just too hard. Whining, complaining, basically causing is teacher to spend more time on him and not teaching. He even got a warning cuz i saw him mid-morning. Then at some point he was in another teacher's room and well that went badly...he went to the principal and well...swats don't scare him bit the social butterfly can't stand being away from the action...now he is in the library. Our librarian has like 45 years teaching or so...and well...she ain't impressed and has him in line....

Sorry no negotiations...he was warned a couple weeks ago that his behavior was questionable and that bestbehavior was required...he made poor decisions...

I just hope him and mom both make it while me and Bubba are gone

they tend to fight...

I am so sorry! I would say give her a fighting chance- she may be bruised, a pinched nerve, anything- there are suppliments if you want to go that route- i have a silky that when i got him could barely stand, as people here will tell you i will go to the nth degree- he got vitamins, baths, physical therapy- he now is chasing the girls... he hobbles, loses his balance, moves better backward than forward- but he doesn't appear in pain- bottom line is your call- but i'd give her a chance to get over the shock first

Poor guy, lifes lessons are hard to learn sometimes. At least its nice to see a parent stand up and set discipline rules,so many think they are raising angels who never need correction. Discipline is hard on everyone but it is so important to learn especially in topdays world. Hang in there dad!

OkCarla,if you are out there looking in be sure and check out the Tulsa craigslist..,Fainters,need I say more!LOL

younger the chicken the better they heal?
I have had some baby chicks take a few days
and they are off and running again.
Now the principal's office is bad. Virginia not yet
in pre-k has already seen the principal's office.
Maybe we should keep them apart...
