yes good job... discipline is hard to do but the rewards run deep.
My oldest daughter is 14 and a GOOD person. She can have a
smart mouth but NOTHING like what I hear from friends with
children her age. Long term rewards are so much better then a
quick fix to stop the begging...
I am going to go home and play with my chickens...

I worry about my birds feeling pain (and I raise many of mine for meat now days) and so feel a good stun is helpful. Having been the victim of a one punch knockout before in my boxing days, I can tell you that there is no feeling. Just one second I was punching a guy and the next I was picking myself up off the canvas and the ref was raising the other guys' hand. My friends said he counted me out an everything.

I felt it later, though.

Anyway, I hold it upside down by its feet till it is calm, a pipe to the back of the head, then I chop. They don't feel a thing, I promise.

I don't know if that will make it easier for you, but it helped me the first time I did a bird I really liked.

Moved another shoebox full of chicks to the brooder in the barn when I got home from work. They're karate kicking each other and hopping up on the 2 X 4 that's in the brooder. I'd still be out there watching them if the phone hadn't called me in. I hate phones. I think I've got the space problem solved for the drive to POOPS. Some of my cages will go in sideways (short chicks won't mind), and I'm putting empty feed sacks in between the stacks to keep all the birds clean. This is going to be fun. It will be like opening and closing a puzzle box filled with chickens.

yesterday the weather said thunderstorms, now it says scattered thunderstorms possible. And chances of rain sunday are less than yesterday. So its looking up. Finally got my wifes coop and run finished today, thank goodness

Hey folks....I finally got started on getting cages and a few other things ready for POOPS. My list of to-do's is so long ....not only POOPS but there are family things of my mom's that I'm still taking care of. I may just find my cabin and go to sleep....NOT!!

Anyway, I love this site when it gets close to POOPS. Everyone starts buzzing and getting excited for it. I've got some things that I want to make and bring to put in the auction but I'm not sure I'll get to them.

Stimpy's wife called me this evening and said that Stimpy is going to go home tomorrow. He will have to go back to get more blood on Friday. They do have a diagnosis but she asked me to allow Stimpy to tell what he wants to about it. I will say please continue to pray for him. The good part is he's bound and determined to come to POOPS. He plans on being there Friday night and Saturday. So pray that God will give him strength cause he's very weak. Pray for Lou also...it's hard on her as well.

Can't wait to see all at POOPS.

thanks folks for the support...I still feel like a heal! Not as bad a when I made a kid miss a basketball game because his homework was in his locker and not my room...not his first offense and had been given the warning...I felt awful...his dad thanked me...made me feel a little better but i made the dad promise not to ground him or anything...he didn't...missing the game was all that was needed...kid turns in his work now...

I will have my ladies praying for all that need it!
