Hi Ya'll,

thing are getting a little on the ridiculous side around casa de Matt & I need some help! About a week before poops one of my 24 RIR hens went broody in the hen house and is still sitting tight on the nest. Before this I was getting about 10 eggs every day and that number had been on the rise, up from 5 or 6 a day. Since this hen went broody egg production has fallen off to 2 and sometime 3 a day. Any ideas out there as to why??

I figured that the hens were laying in the broody nest for a few days and the sitting hen was pulling the eggs under her, but no way could that still be the case, there would be way to many eggs under her at this point.

I'm stumped

I'm sure he didn't think to turn the ringer off before we went to bed. I got to sleep a couple hours in the car and he didn't. Although I did offer to drive for a while, even I will admit he is better at the night driving lol. Missouri was beautiful though and the birds were totally worth not sleeping over. I think we will go back sometime when we have a couple of days to play.
