You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma. It sounds like we don't need to give you the standard disclaimer about some of us having addictions and trying to enable others so that they too will be addicted to chickens. It would appear that you are already addicted to acquiring poultry. Now, we need to get you started on the hatching egg addiction and the attending poultry auction addiction. So, do you have an incubator yet?

I am not sure which hurts more. Buyer's remorse or Non-buyer's remourse. I don't have non-buyer's remorse very often so it is hard for me to remember what it feels like.

Come sit with us at an auction the next time you are in Oklahoma. We can help you overcome your tendency to be reluctant to bid a higher price at the auction.

Received your payment today (Saturday, since I haven't made it to bed yet). Thank you for being so prompt. I am glad you like the ducks.

The grandson will be out of the hospital sometime on Sunday, sporting a cast on his leg and crutches. I appreciate everyone's prayers.

As long as you put them where you want them to sleep and they come out of that location on their own in the morning, they will know to go back in at dusk. You may have to herd them into the coop for the first night or two, but after that they should go in of their own accord. This tendency to go back to the same place each night to roost is the origin of the saying "chickens come home to roost" when referring to the fall out from deeds someone has done.

Jess-W You are not that far from myself and a couple of other Okie BYCers. Oh you do not want to get rid of the barred feather legged chicken that is a cuckoo maran, they are the ones that lay the dark chocolate colored eggs. If it is a rooster, put it with an EE hen and you can get olive colored eggs.

Just got home about 40 minutes ago. Had a total blast tonight at Doc and Peaches. Doc you take care of yourself over there and when you get back we will have a big ol' partay. Of course on my way out to the Doc and Renee's I made a stop in Cement and picked up 5 baby peafowl

. Unfortunetly one of them will not shut up so I am not sure I am going to be able to hid them from Uli.

Oh well I will have to bit the bullet on this one. I do not think he will mind he love Piaget so I think he will love these ones as well. I think I like baby peafowl almost as much as I love baby turkeys. They are so darn cute.

Well it is going to have to be a ninja post tonight or should I say this morning. I am tired, seems like the candle is burning at 3 ends.

No incubator yet, but I have a friend that has one. I have already been thinking about that but Shhhh! Don't tell my husband!

Oh, wow! I actually thought about ordering some of those! I will try to post a pic of the two so you can take a look. I am laid up with a badly broken leg so I will have to see if they can come close enough to the porch today for me to get a picture.
