LOL, yeah it is & it was fun making it an seeing how it would work ect. Al made a really cool one in his signature line. See just trying to give you something to do while you are stuck in the house not getting to move around much.
You have found a wonderful group of folks who either live in Oklahoma or wish they lived in Oklahoma. It sounds like we don't need to give you the standard disclaimer about some of us having addictions and trying to enable others so that they too will be addicted to chickens. It would appear that you are already addicted to acquiring poultry. Now, we need to get you started on the hatching egg addiction and the attending poultry auction addiction. So, do you have an incubator yet?
No incubator yet, but I have a friend that has one. I have already been thinking about that but Shhhh! Don't tell my husband!
Does your husband have any out of town trips planned in the next few months? That is always a good time to "acquire" new chicks, incubators, kittens, ducks, etc.

Since you are from Slaughterville and as Muesky said, not to far from some of us, be sure to let us know when you are ready to attend a poultry auction. We would be happy to assist you in learning which ones are the most fun to attend and encouraging you to bid one more time for something you have no room to house once you get it home. Did I mention that some of us are enablers?
Well Doc's 4 th of July/going away party was great, we had lot's of fun lot's good Okies & BYCer's and some out of state transports LOL. The food was good too, folks seemed to have a great time visiting and wishing Doc a safe return. We Roasted a pig and that seemed to have been a crowd pleaser some folks never seen one done over an open pit.
Here are some Pic's of the party.

The early stage, just getting her going.
The set-up and it did keep us dry.
Made some burgers for lunch, to tide us over till the fat lady sang.
Nearing the finishing stage.
Wrapped in the blanket of love for the final hour.
Then as in any good Okie gathering some guy named BUBBA shows up to inspect the pig and give us some road kill recipes, he couldn't stay long he had a dentist apt LOL.
I did let him slather some baste on the pig, but he was the Ham at the party LOL.
Did you know that there are at least 3 auctions next weekend with my name written on them? Alex on Friday night, Blanchard on Saturday night, and the Jones "junk" auction on Sunday afternoon.
Yes, I will need to attend alone and load my vehicle without the assistance of hubby.
I can already tell I am going to love it on this board! I have been married to the MAN for 21 years so unfortunately he knows me all to well and rarely leaves me alone. When he does, he tries to insure that my 16 year old daughter is with me. I am convinced she is a spy and is all to happy to report back to him regarding my pet acquiring plans.
I do secretly have a plan for him to suddenly wake up on a farm and not realize how it happened. I subscribe to the addage that it is better to ask for forgiveness that for permission.
I was lucky enough that my Roos came right over to the poarch as soon as I gimped out there. Man, they are nosy!
I am very new to this but I think this is an EE roo. When I thought she was a hen I named her Clementine. Now she goes by Clem.
This is the barred roo with the feathered legs that I wrote about. I have another one just like this one. I didn't think that Cuckoo Marans had feathered legs.
Marybeth : That little Jackson is sure growing like a weed and not quite as shy these day's. I hope you had a good time yesterday and had plenty to eat, How were the fireworks ??, I was just too tired to hang out any longer as we got an early start and I was wore smooth out by 10:00 so I skeedaddled home and crashed hard LOL.

No, he built me another flight pen this week so that he can go visit an out of state friend without feeling guilty. I am just going to do "research" on the Alex auction to learn if it is one that he would enjoy attending in the future. I already know that he likes visiting with everyone at the Blanchard auction - but doesn't enjoy sitting through 5+ hours of poultry being the only thing on the auction block. My attendance at the Jones "junk" auction is the one that would scare him to death if he knew ahead of time that I plan to attend. The last time I went, which was several years ago, he had to go get the stock trailer to get my purchases home and then had to take the basketball goals to the Luther thrift shop because we didn't actually need them ourselves but they were a "great buy"
