Roy I don't think I will ever get rid of my Serama pair. They are my babies. I may have to get rid of the chicks and roo, but never the girl. I know you guys love me and I love you too.

thanks Roy, so how can a snake climb up the side of a mobile home? wonder if he's been in here awhile and we didn't know it- we set him in the garden, unless a snake is obviously poisonous i won't kill them... course i never had one go after my chickens either

Shavon, adding you to the prayer list...

Your snake was a Great plains rat snake also known as a corn snake, Not the wild ones like your invader but hey are quite popular and are bred for a multude of different color variations for the pet snake industry you can see a lot of them if you google for Corn snake the band running from its eyes you will see as the most common marking on any of them :) Sorry it found your finches and kudos for not killing it they eat a lot of mice and rats so are beneficial. However,, if you have anything that lays eggs it may be back to visit again it is an egg eating snake also. It's also not a true rat snake it related to the milk snake the way to tell a rat snake is the shape of it's body it you were to look at it as a cross section the rat snake has a shape like a slice of bread wider at the top and bottom and indented at the sides, (I have been a snake person longer than a chicken person LOL)

Thanks for the info, thought i'd get screening and put it on the indoor bird cages, might never happen again, but i don't want to give an open invitation to them either.. i have 2 starlings, a blue jay, a cockatiel and 2 other finches inside so i am really gonna do some cage protection...

Luckily as a kid my brothers best friend kept snakes, so they don't freak me out, just mad cuz who he decided to have for lunch... being that he wasn't that big, maybe there is a nest close by? as long as they leave my critters alone, i don't have a problem with them

so i guess i'll finish my popcorn (the elixir of life, popcorn washed down with koolaid) and head to bed-

we buy popcorn in 50 pound bags, one thing we refuse to run out of, and the chickens love it too... can you get a little countertop electic burner and those popcorn package that come bagged, so all you do is set em on the burner???

Call Bobby up at Deer Creek Feed, He carries Blue Bonnet and other brands too and is reasonable. He is located just a bit South of Edmond Road on Meridian, There is also a feed store in Bethany but I don't know how they are as I have never been there.

Teva's meatloaf would blow your mind Teach. No Bell peppers cause they just don't agree with her. Chopped Onion, Black Olives and she buys Pepper Jack cheese and cubes it and it goes in there too. She uses Oatmeal as a binder and cooks it until it is done but still moist. Oh almost forgot, a thick layer of Tomato paste on top.
