I have chicks hatching in incubators and I am trying to decide how many a broody hen will be able to take care of. One hen was gifted with about 2 dozen chicks last night. She is the one that I traded eggs with from the incubator so she wouldn't have to do a second 3 week stint on the nest, after her first clutch of eggs didn't hatch. She didn't complain about all the sudden cheeping beneath her and I removed some eggs as I put the chicks beneath her in a way she couldn't see the colors of the ones going beneath her. The black tailed japanese bantam eggs that Carla sold at the Blanchard auction 3 weeks ago had 11 out of 12 hatch and it is peeping. The maran eggs and olive eggers are also kicking out of their shells in a high percentage.
I may have to break down and put some in the brooder since so many have hatched.
Morning Carah : Last night was just great, we went to a Kiowa Casino about 40 miles away where they had a all you can eat seafood buffet featuring Alaskan King Crab legs. It was fantastic we ate like it was our last meal LOL, thos Crab leg's are to die for and are Laura's favorite. We met some friends afterwards and had a great time, so yeah it was a fantastic night out, we don't do that very often at all, but should because it's so much fun.
Right now I am waiting on the refridgerator repairman before heading to work, Our fridge has lost all of it's coolant from the compressor and needs to be recharged after he finds the leak and repairs that, sure beats buying a new one.
Shavon : So sorry to hear life has gotten a little bumpy, we are all concerned for you please do whatever you can tollerate to feel better about whatever is going on. You know who you can talk to if need be.
That does sound like alot of fun, I too love crab legs & just missed getting them on the way home this past weekend, I think mom was going to stop at the Treasure something casino that had all you can eat seafood......man I'm hungry now!
I'm glad they are able to repair it, that is much better than buying a new one.
We both really like shellfish of all kinds, we used to go all the time to this deal then they quit having it, but they have brought it back and I for one am one happy camper. The best part is it is only $19.99 How the heck can you beat that !!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL.
And the raw Oysters on the half shell were pretty good too.............. YUMOOOO.
I have all the equipment for the launch and we are all trained up, My yellow page advertising and web video should hit soon, Just waiting on that and the phone should start ringing. This new venture is really some Insurance against any slow times that may Pop up and will fill allot of hours in the schedule between large projects. I am busy now and until mid August but I do feel a lag approaching as the economy continues to sag.
I also took this on because there is the possibility of getting some larger Gov't Contracts around Oklahoma & N Texas.
That is great Al, I am glad to hear it. One word of warning if you go to running up & down the highway with company trucks, the DOT is really cracking down. We have been hit hard & it took us a couple of months to get it all figured out.
