My dad works at a place in Tulsa that has some and they sell the offspring every so often. Ill check w/ him and find out if they have any ready to sell and if so, how much and the sex.

I think it would be neat to have some but they sure are noisy birds.

What I think is interesting is that different breeds/colors of peafowl make different noises. My black shouldered peafowl sound like a goose honking.

I thought you'd probably have stopped buying by now or I'd have bid on some india blue peachicks for you at Maud. They only sold for $16 each. And then there was an egg laying peahen in the auction (she laid an egg there), but I don't know what she sold for because we left before she was sold. They also had 4 pea eggs which sold for around $7 or 8 each.

It is hard to say what kind of goats are "common" at Blanchard. There are not usually more than 4-6 total. You might try calling Jerry or Jim and asking them if any have been pre-cosigned. 405-623-9293 OR 405-812-7552

Hey all! Just got done with the 4H poultry show in Tulsa and I have a few questions...

Does anyone know who the judge was for that show? He offered my youngest a cochin roo for his frizzle and we were supposed to follow him but got lost in all that traffic. If you know who it was, please pm me and I can give you my info to pass on to him. I think his name might have been Bruce? Or, if you know the girl that handles the shows, I know she can get ahold of him.

My oldest boy did really well with his Turken. He's decided that's what he wants to focus on, and we are looking for breeders within 100 miles. I might go farther, but it depends.

My youngest wants to focus on the Cornish. I know there are some good breeders in OK, but the posts are too much to wade through.

If anyone has information on any of these, please pm me with your info so I can call you back.

The kids are wanting to use their prize money for this, so they are serious. I've been asking them for over a year to commit to a breed, so now they have.

Thanks so much!

All this talk of lions, tigers, lynx have me all thinking I am not in Kansas anymore.. ha ha

It does spark my senses... in the past week we have went from 15 ducks down to 8 in just a matter of 3 days... we used to pen them up at night but since we had that snake in the holding pen that ate my Black Giant chick we let the ducks out at night... and they were doing great sticking around underneith the COOP and moving about the day...

Well then we started noticing them disappering literally ... First it started with the Mallard and Raffle... Then the next night it was 3 more... a muscovy...and the two blue sweedish, then the White Crested Drake aka Dr Seuss, now the Mallard PB just got us last weekend...

I literally became sick, calling up Peaches to see if she had figured out yet what was causing her flock of ducks and chickens to disappear also... Literally gone as if they never existed.... no blood no feather.. as if something or some one picked them up and took off with them...

I noticed the last couple of nights when I would get up to feed the baby that Jackson would be barking and growling like crazy and I would go out and check with baby in my arms as to what he is freaking out at..... Last night like he has been the past week he took off after something on our property... Since the last diappearance of our ducks we now pen them up n havent lost any since then... But I can tell you it has messed with the mating of some of these ducks... Mrs Seuss is all crazy as she went off her nest today in search of Dr Seuss and she is not happy... the other ducks seem a little bewildered as to what is going on... and I am getting

at what ever is taking my babies... I really never thought I would like ducks... but they are starting to grow on me like a rash and they all have such personalities and it just makes me sick that we lost so many in a short time with no evidence left to point as to who done it... I feel like I should be playing clue and blaming the butler or something.. h a ha ha.. Made me think even more if I should take these other ducks in(SHAVON mallards) because we lost alot of our ducks... I do feel bad and feel like I am not doing a good job at the husbandry of keeping the home stead... Thank good ness its the weekend I might have to go RAMBO and do a stake out tonight

Remember a large Game cat wont leave alot of evidence But the initial Kill Consist of Puncturing the Juggler vein There should be some form of Blood somewhere. I am not sure where you live or how close it is to tulsa But I use to build tree boxes for bald eagles We have some not alot but some in northeast Oklahoma These Birds would take A Duck and Kill it in the air With its talons Never leaving a trace. If you have eagles in your area You could check into that Possibility The hunting area or home range patrolled by a bald eagle varies from 1,700 to 10,000 acres. Home ranges are smaller where food is present in great quantity. As with Most cats thing about a cat is There typically found In or around constant water sources and Hunt in a 30 to 50 mile radius There A Nocturnal Animal Who are often heard but rarely seen. males typically hunt in a 15-30 mile radius where as Females Hunt in a 5-20 foot radius. Most Cats Only pick one source of food meaning one might chose deer while the other choses rabbits this eliminates the struggle for there food chain and source. (If a cat has chose the Ducks then That will be His diet Until he finds something else.)

Tips
If you have reason to believe a mountain lion has attacked livestock or a pet (for example, if you
see pawprints around the carcass), call Pacific Wildlife Care.
1. Do not allow pets to run free -- for their own protection and for the protection of the wild animals
on which they might prey.
2. Never leave pet food outside.
3. Restrict use of birdseed to discourage the rodents that visit the feeder.
4. Trim and clear near ground level any shrubbery that provides cover for mountain lions or prey.
5. Use fencing to help deter mountain lions. Augment your existing fencing with outwardly inverted
fencing, hot wire, etc.
6. Actively discourage visitations by making loud noises.
7. Keep chickens, rabbits, livestock in well protected areas at night. Strong gauge wiring is a necessity
in protecting animals.
8. Battery operated flashing lights, tape recorded human noises, scattered moth balls and ammoniasoaked
rags strategically placed may deter mountain lions from entering your yard.
