People Of Oklahoma Poultry Swap April 25th 2009 I-40 and SE OKC KOA

camp. http://www.koa.com/where/ok/36133/ zip code of 73135 at the KOA

website.

This is just an informal get together of our group here and their family

and frineds. We can bring birds to sell/trade/swap.

Those that are traveling a ways maybe could do paper and plastic ware.

Breads and chips. There will be a Loves right at the exit off I-40 to get

ice and such if needed. There is a WalMart just about 15 miles from this

exit on I40 in Shawnee. There is also a Walmart off I-240 and I-40 from

the west in OKC.

There couldn't have been a bobcat killed!

That would be wrong in OK in months other than Dec. and Jan. Yes there is a season. Not in Texas...bang!

Wild running quineas? That sounds cool. They hunt them in Africa by driving them. Some folks say they are great to eat...really dark meat? I haven't had the pleasure but would try it in a sec.

Glad to that, we all look forward to meeting you.

City Clucks - Glad you are coming to POOPS! What is Tabouli? Come on...bring some to trade! Just make sure you bring something to haul birds back in!

Are there any auctions close by that evening? Curious about left over birds! Also...do y'all's auction supply cages to run them through in or do you have to bring cages? The auction I am going to you have to have them in a cage and the birds and cage sell...which is kinda a pain...I build my cages way over the top. I can't help it I like to build stuff. I might show a pic of them later.

What is Tabouli?

Tabbouleh (Arabic: ÊÈæáÉý; also tabouleh or tabouli) is a Levantine Arab dish,[1] often used as part of a mezze. Its primary ingredients are bulgur, finely chopped parsley, mint, tomato, scallion, and other herbs with lemon juice, olive oil and various seasonings, generally including black pepper and sometimes cinnamon and allspice.

In the Levant, tabbouleh is traditionally eaten with a lettuce leaf,[2] but in the United States it is often served with pita bread, as a dip.

Tabbouleh is popular in Brazil and in the Dominican Republic (where it is known as tipili), due to Middle Eastern immigrants who settled there.

The largest recorded bowl of tabbouleh was made on June 9, 2006 in Ramallah, in the West Bank.[3] It weighed 1,514 kilograms (3,348 lbs) and earned a Guinness World Record. [4] The previous record was set on February 24, 2001 in Qornet Shahwan, Lebanon.

I will probably be bringing some ducks to POOPS, right now we have over 60 eggs in the incubator and they are all developing!!

I can bring 1 dozen bantam light brown leghorn for the raffle. These are from Jacob Bates.
I will have to see how they are laying but I could have some bantam cochin eggs. The roo is white from Fred McGehee and the hens are black from Bernita Miller.
I have lots of BLBL(bantam light brown leghorns) hatching right now maybe by then I could see if there is a pair in the bunch.

What do I need to bring/make? Our plan is to be down Friday evening so I can make banana pudding Saturday and put in a cooler to chill. Or snicker salad? What about plates? has anyone signed up for those yet?
Shaun is making a cake- what it's called I haven't a clue, but it's tasty!

In my opinion bulger has the texture of rice and is in the shape of little balls. Like the size of a half a grain of rice. As far a mezze I haven't a clue but I will google it.
The ONLY reason I know what tabouli is.....Is because the use to serve it on the salad bar at work. And I know what bulgar is because it was in one of the soups at work. I called it "booger" soup and gross my co-workers out.

Which is hard to do since we workin the lab!!
Tabouli is not bad eating, I have definatly ate worse!! I am really funny about textures of my food. Bulgur is better in Tabouli than in soup. In the soup it gets a little slimey- like boogers........ ok not boogers, okra!!
Ok I am done no more bulger/booger comments!!

Wow lots are going to show up!! I am talking with hubby about attending, if nothing else just coming for the day. Wish me luck!

I also start my 3 day wait today! It has been along time since I hatched, I think I am more worried this time than when I didn't know anything the last time! LOL.

The next time I go to KOA I'll see what they say. They have been very good to work with us and I don't want to push for too much.
We may want to do this again.
