Was it in 2008 that the Shawnee show was affected by a snow storm the second weekend in December?

The big ice storm was 2007 when the show was cut short. Don't like to remember that. Nine days without power but some others had it much worse.

2007 was the year of the ice pick! I think this is the year of the spatula for persimmons.

14 days for us!!!!

so what does a "spatula" in the persimmons mean? Pancakes?

I also forgot that last year was when the Southwest part of the state - from Lawton down to the state line and west - was without power for several weeks. Remember when Al was going to town and visiting stores with power so he could "borrow" a plug-in long enough to recharge his daughter's Ipod, electronic games and cell phone?

I thought there was only a spoon, knife & fork.....Here is what I found

A knife shape will indicate a cold icy winter (where wind will cut through you like a knife). A fork shape indicates a mild winter. A spoon shape stands for a shovel to dig out the snow

Thanks Sooner. I think there are only three things.
Isn't there something about a dish running away with the spoon?

P&B if spatula means pancakes then it is going to be hard to get around with all of that syrup!

Well I did a little unintentional experimenting today.
I found out that when a large man in soft soled shoes steps on a steel rake, it will go into said man's foot approximatly one quarter to one third of an inch.

Side note: Kudos to the large man with a rake in his foot for having the dexterity to avoid falling into the large fire.

I am still here. How are you? Did ya get all of the mudding and taping done?

I talked to Carla today. Her new position leaves little time for being on BYC and she and Gerald won't be at Blanchard because it is their anniversary. She did say she was taking some stuff over to sell though!

Who said it was Me? Ha!
I just got a tetnus booster about a month ago so I think I am alright there.
I thought I was gonna pass out and fall in the fire, but I was able to gracefully sit down in a chair.
I did holler though.

That sounds alot like my fall that cut my finger so bad, I thought I would pass out before I could get in the house.....Did you try to go back to work after you regained your senses???

I am ready to hire out the mud & tape. My wrist is really bad & at this rate it will take forever.

I had to stay out there because of the fire so I just stayed there and toughed it out.
I came in later and fixed supper and when I posted a while ago about the persimmons was the first time I had sat down. Not sure if when I get up from here how stiff I will be.
Sorry you hand is bothering you so much.Hiering it done sounds like a good idea.

Oh before I forget (again) I got a message fom City today. She is on her way to Texas to be with her step dad who is having to have his foot amputated. She would appreciate everyone's prayers I am sure!
Oh, plus her 700 year old cat died.
