Been a long 2 days here at MM Poultry Farms. by the way, the more birds you have, the easier it is to hide a few more in plain sight.

I tried that 2 Christmases ago with a pinto horse. Almost got away with it too! Then he realized we had one too many 'spotty bodies' in the pasture. "Whose horse is THIS?" he queried. "Why yours!", I said so sweetly. "Merry Christmas hunny, I got her just for you." "NO SALE", said he, didn't buy my story...ROFL

Maybe you should have planted a tree to hide 1/2 a horse at a time behind, it may have taken longer to catch on.

Hello, everyone, got back from our hunting weekend a little while ago. i am pooped but I just wanted to check in.
I am gonna try my best to learn how to post a picture here (tomorrow).
Jared killed a really nice eight point buck. By nice I mean big.
Sorry I missed the Fltcher extravaganza.
Maribeth, do you need a rooster to go with those NN hens?

Night everyone!

I didn't get all my new birds from Fletcher photographed today. Maybe some of you with game hen knowledge can help me identify the ladies who did make the pictures.
Hen number one is lovely. A guy at the auction who has games said she's pure bred, but I can't remember what he called her.

Hen number two is black with beetle green in her feathers when the light hits her just right.

Hen number three is a mess. She's molting, which only makes identification more difficult. DGD thinks she looks like a dinosaur.

Hen number four is a pure bred Penny Hatch hen. She's amazing. I hope to find a male before spring.

just let me know if you need that speckled sussex roo , and i got a white legged hatch roo also and a few game hens alos , if your interrested in them

Hey Donnie - You're up late. We just got back from visiting our daughter and her family in Bartlesville. Her husband turned 33 today. He's an old man already.

Do you have any pictures of the white legged hatch roo? I'd love to see them. I might be interested. I sure would like to have some more game hens, too. I'm not too interested in crosses, though. The penny, black, and light hen in the pictures are supposed to be pure bred. The molting hen could be anything. I hope she turns out to be something other than U-G-L-Y. She is terrified of me right now, but the rest will come take seeds from my hand. I'll try scrambled eggs tomorrow. I hope I can get her to trust me.

Wayne what we do is to scrap them out. Many of the older trailers have aluminum siding and the window frames are also aluminum. There was also a time in which the wiring was aluminum as well. To get top price it has to be clean, no insulation or steel or anything. Door hinges as well as screws and wall studs can be used again for cages and pens.

If it is a travel trailer with a tube frame it can be used for light hauling after a few mods. but the frames on a mobile home are pretty much too light to do anything with unless a lot of work are put into them.

OMILOWERED!! ROFL, please don't take this in an insulting way...or personally, but #3 looks like what I would picture if you could put a body and feathers on a Turducken! LOWEREDAMERCY, that poor bird does look pre-historic, I'm dying to know what she is when you find out.

I'll let you know when her feathers grow back in. She could turn out to be the nicest in the lot. She's timid, to say the least, which makes me think she's been low on the pecking order or really popular with the roosters. Either way, now that she's got the winter off, I think she'll be able to grow her feathers back. The seller at the auction said she was a game hen, but he didn't know what color on account of her molting. I rescued a hen (pity purchase is what DH called it) that didn't have more than two dozen feathers left on her, and now she's a beautiful blue EE. She lays a pink egg, sometimes light tan, and she's super friendly. When I first bought her, she wouldn't let me near her. I suspect the same circumstances as with my new hen: low on the pecking order. Now she nearly runs me down when I come into the pen to feed or water.
