I am definately going to continue to sprout, and expand to multiple grains. I am doing a little more research, but will almost definately start fermenting the grains for the chickens also. It will take a little more research for fermenting my flour and grains, but from what I have found out so far, that is very likely the way I will be going, too.

I have 2, 3 gal buckets. I bought 1.5 yard of burlap at hancocks and sewed those into simple sacks. Bought a packet of clippies numbered 1-4 w/ a sharpie. Day 1 put grain in sack 1 put enough water in bucket to cover a few inches above grain level, soak at least over night. Day two at some point when convenient take sack out of water bucket, allow to drip most excess water then place in dry bucket 2, take sack 2 and fill w/ grain as before empty water and refill place sack to soak. Next day lift wet sack and drain as before then when placing in dry bucket put it on bottom repeat each day. Day 4 take top sack (1) out of dry bucket and feed it to the chickens, allow this sack to dry completely before refilling and soaking agian. When I get back to hancocks I will buy a little more fabric so they can dry a little longer protect against mold and all.

Usually when you sprout grains in a jar you have to rinse several times a day to keep them moist and from getting rancid, but this way has been great no additional rinsing and no rancid. The roots actually start to grow out of the sack.

that is very interesting, I may have to hit you up to tell me that again later. I have some already made burlap sack & that would be a good use for them but I don't have the time or space right now.
