Once I get past building my house I will have to figure out a brooder system that I can work in to my already existing set up. When you stager hatches, how do you deal with the humidity?

I will have my big incubator permantly set both with temp & humidity at a constant never changing level, with turners and fan's, then on day 18 or so I will move them to a seperate hatcher that has no turner and the humidity is also up'ed with no forced air.
Cornish tend to do better with a dryer incubation enviroment & slightly higher temp's, and then just keep spitting them out every 3-4 day's or so.

Now you think well what about brooding all those chicks who are all different ages. With my current pen set-up I plan to take 2 large pen's and splitting them into 8 walk in compartment type brooders, and rotate them accordingly to another Grow out pen area.

I have 7 brooders set up then 3 cages after that. I move chicks from one brooder to the next weekly. then when they come out of the brooders I put them in the cages and move them weekly. By the time they go outside they are 10 weeks old. Next year I would like to add a few more cages(and bigger cages at that) so they go outside between 12 or 14 weeks(havent fully decided). Then I would like to build pens that they stay in according to age until 19 or 20 weeks then move them in with the breeder pens if I am keeping them.

There is my problem being able to convert something that I already have & then making it where they can go from pen to pen as they get older. I will have all winter to work on it thank goodness.

Steph so nice of you to help out. LOL.

Good Steph.................... And you ??. Your brooder rotation is well thought out, I know that works well for you. I plan do something very similar.
