Where did everybody go? I just get thru catching up and seems that the chatter ended.
Today was my last day of classes too. I am so glad I made it to vacation without loosing my mind. In the last 10 min. of the last class a little 6th grade girl grabbed a boy from behind and they fell and he hit his eye on a table, causing a big bump and bruise.
It all happened in an instant as I was dealing with another two who were missbehaving. I turned just in time to see the grab and the fall. The "Grabber said she wasn't guilty because that boy had been hitting and throwing things at another girl, so she wanted to hold him so the first girl could hit him back. (The first girl is an angel and had no intention it retaliating) Little miss grabber has been in trouble alot and this may be the incident that gets her long term suspended.
It should be illegal for 6th graders to eat candy canes or any other candy, punch, cake, cookies.....ect. From me their treats are crackers and pretzels. Have I mentioned that I just don't work well with 6th graders. 7th graders, that loose their minds in the middle of the year, are much more my style.
Next semester I will get all new students. That is bad in that I have to "break in" a whole new group of kids to how the Art room and I "operate" That is good in that some of the ones that never got the message are now gone.
I so needed this break but I had to bring some work home to grade. I try to leave everything at school and when my car gets east of Anderson road that world disapears. Chickens, dogs and even cats make so much more sence!
