Yes... Dont do it!... the size 4 is what you need and they will still fall off the bantams. And you have to keep track of the growth so you can change the leg band size in 2 or 3 weeks otherwise the leg band gets too tight and will cut into their leg.

Carah : I know everybody can't try this but since Alyssa has them I use them, and those are the rubber bands for her braces, they are small enough, come in different sizes and I can get a pant load of them in different colors. I have all standard birds and they are good for about 3 weeks then I change the size to a bigger one, until they are old enough to have the Plastic spiral self adjusting colored numbered bands. They are safe I have been using them for 3 yrs without a problem.

I love that idea Al... One color for every hatch then log the info into
a book. This would be helpful for the girls to keep their chicks apart
from one another for log books.
Yonna is no longer in braces tho..... hmmmmm

I've been there a couple of years ago buying hay; do you know if they're organic or at least, carry non corn GMO?

Yup that is what I do, and if I have other breeds that look similar in that same hatch I use a two color combination and record that.

We have a little extra money (knock on wood) these days. My poor husband
works 12 hr days and I work 8 plus.... BUT things are getting better for the bussines.
So I am thinking about changing things up around here. I have two HUGE pens
and a nice large barn that is no longer used for work space. So I may try and start
something new.
