Hey Dachsunds, if you want to get the snake just wad up some of the bird netting with the 1in squares. The plastic stuff. Their heads can go through it but not their bodies.

Place it around the base of the nest boxes. Has worked for me in the past.

Well Mom of the Stray! POOPs is April 25. I doubt anyone will be bringing vaccinated chicks. That is something that the big places do to cut down on the diseases that spread so quickly through large scale poultry places. On our small scale operations they get enough attention that disease is not likely to spread. Having said that many of us are NPIP certified so our stuff should be healthy!

Much better than a horse auction...we be honest...unless you come over to where the men folk are talking hunting and fishing and then all bets are off because I heard about Al and Buckguy! BigOkie and Greybear can be trusted (mainly cuz they are bigger than me and I don't irritate folks bigger than me...unless Iknow I can outrun them!)

dachsunds - sorry to hear that! If I was around those parts i would go on snake detail for you! Good idea about the netting I have seen that work...you can also do the golfball thing or small lightbulbs...ouch!

Well it is official, todays problems with posting WAS NOT an April fools joke. They did a major server upgrade last night and have lost all of the post counts and from what nifty chicken thinks they are gone for good, he is contemplating eliminating post counts forever, unless they can work it out. He did not give any explaination about the substitute word thing today so I cannot tell if it was a joke or not, I am thinking that to is a mix up and not some clever BYC joke. Now everybody knows how much true OKIES absolutely deplore change of any kind, so get ready for some major shake up's in the Forum. This info was taken from the official site post on this topic. I cannot and do not know as do they if there are any other problems that may surface as a result of the upgrade, here is hoping they can get it worked out as many of consider OKIES BYC a nice place to hang out.
