Shaun has shown then at Ottawa county and the judge really liked the hen but thought the roos ear lobes was to big!

We should have taken him to more show but we didn't. The hen did well at Pryor though.

Hang in there with your mom I am sure she don't HATE you even if it seems like it most of the time. I don't have a good relationship with my mom either. I am the oldest child, the dependable one, the one that stayed close to home and she uses it against me. I swear she likes my sisters A LOT better than me. And they are the flakey ones!! I was a daddy's girl and that bugged the heck out of her. Dad thought I hung the moon and stars and would bend over backwards for me and I for him. He deeded me over his grandparent's farm before he died and that just burnt her up.
Sometimes you have to be the bigger person and forgive them of thier "sins". Not for them but for YOU. When she says something hurtful either be a duck and let it roll off your back or have an honest discussion with her and tell her how hurtful she is to you,(That is finally what I did) and that you want a relationship with her but it is hard when she is being ugly.
Hang tough and hugs and prayers coming your way!!

Well told hubby about EBRPs...(emergency backup replacement peeps) He laughed at me!!!

Dear SC... me and mom have always been close... She and my dad were both alcolholics while I was growing up so I have been taking care of her since I was about 7.....cooking, cleaning....signing for forclosure papers etc. She just isn't very tough. Bad thing is I ain't tough either. I had a few years alone when I first got married...but she has 3 ruptured discs from a work injury, and really bad scoliosis, and OA...now she also has a rotator cuff tear. None of these things are operable and I was cooking and cleaning two houses a day and had the brilliant idea if she moved in it would be easier. That was in 1998. She thinks of me as HER wife and resents any time I spend with my hubby or on my own. Now that she is really old I get all the mental games. Since we are in the same house she is in my space all day, every day, plus all the things I have to do like meds etc. Sometimes it just piles up on me. Usually when my own life is crazy and I'm trying to just keep myself going. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad I can take care of her rather than a nursing home (God forbid) but it just adds up and I feel really smothered and choked.... I have the world's greatest hubby, because a lesser man would have left me in his rearview mirror long ago....

Hennies are piling up at the fence staring at me through the door....must be past 5:00!!! I am remiss! I have missed the Hour of Scratch.

I'm sure it was closer to 25 than it was to 100. Lord knows I ain't never seen a $100 rabbit. You should be able to buy a whole herd of those suckers for that.

Carla - yeah! You'll have to post a pic! I want to ditto what someone else said, buy lots of twos, DD2 was just under 9 lbs and was in ones from the gitgo and in twos very quickly after. My dr said she was worried about this new one getting to big, I told her she can worry all she wants I'm still pushing her out when she's good and ready to come out

Just lookin' through my POOPS list. I did order my ice maker
today....so, will have it down there and 'keep 'er crankin'......
They swear it will make 35 lbs of ice in 24 hours, so will have
some made and in the freezer and will keep it going. Is
crud to have to run back and forth to a store. Should be able to
cover several ice chests for the group.

Do we have a clue how many will be there Friday night? How
did we end up doing as far as reservations/group house?
We're still planning to cut up some firewood for campfires.
I'm hoping the RV sites are fairly close to the cabins. I've got
tube lights that I string when we go to the lake that put off
quite a bit of light.

Did get my "puter" back out of the hospital.....lost most of my
stuff....so still trying to get essentials found and reinstalled.
If I wasn't hooked to this thing....I'd pitch the whole
contraption out the front door...........
