I have been to Montana and it is nothing like the dark side of the moon here in OK, it is very beautifull there. I would someday like to revisit maybe a month long pack horse trip. pure heaven up there I tell you.

I told my hubby I wanted to do that and he looked at me the same way he did when I bought 97 baby chicks. I just don't understand.

Side note, we own horses and ride all the time, hubby team ropes.

I wondered about that, cause it was a guy I knew that grew up there as a kid, I wasn't sure if he remembered correctly. I really like the idea of not having a neighbor for 40+ miles, though.

I have done a few of those nice long pack horse trips, head off come back in a month feelin like a million bucks. I love to ride, there is a saying that goes, there is nothing better for the inside of a man than the outside of a horse. True Indeed!!!

NWS says severe maybe for extreme southwest OK on Sunday.... Now dang it ya know that's because I have Mrs. Squeaky out there and I'll have to bring her in.... the way my luck has been .... the whole dang hut will probably blow away and take all my hens with it....Jeez... I can't win....but on the other hand I do need new siding and windows and roof... maybe it will take the house and leave the hen hut....I could live in there... they would let me....I nearly spent the night with them once when I was ticked off at Mike... they are warm and cuddly and it's cozy in there....

Hope ya'll get to feeling better soon. You were feeling lousy at the Cement auction last Saturday, as I recall.

I made the call to get 25, ended up ordering 75, lost some and was in a panic so I called to see what I was doing wrong (pre-byc) and they sent replacements, by the time it was all said an done I had 97.

Just to get that count I had to sit an count them as they went into the pen to roost.

We have large school bell hanging above our back porch with a note on how many pulls it takes to call me. My husband said is there because once I am in a chicken house, I am oblivious to anyone trying to find me.

I tend to get on chicken or rabbit time - and they don't have to be anywhere at a particular time on the clock.

I agree. Although it is sort of sad that Michigan is ahead of us by about 1,000 posts - and we were only ahead of them by a few hundred for about one morning - several weeks ago - it took me 3 hours to get caught up after being off the forum for several days last week.... and another hour to get caught up last night, from just two days off the forum. Just can't bring myself to skip to the last page and start from there......

I am afraid I might miss something
