Okies in the BYC The Original

Hello all,
Once again,i haven't caught up on the posts but I needed to let some folks know about something.
One of my good friends and chicken lover lost her home to one of the fires that was south of OKC by Draper Lake.
Tina and Carla know her, she is on our board but never posts.
Her name is Lisa Foster. I have been trying to reach her for a few days but I had misplaced her phone number. I had emailed a few times as well.
This afternoon while I was gone, she called and talked to my wife and told her about losing her home.
Then when I got on here, I had an eamil from her and I am supposed to call tomorrow..
I think she lost all of her pets and livestock except two horses.
Please remember her in your prayers.
She and her family are staying with a daughter for the time being.
Thanks, Monty

Although it will probably take her a few days to assess her situation, perhaps we could gather some household things together and bring them to POOPS. Please let us know what she needs that we might be able to provide.

Count me in as well...

I just crawled out from under a blanket. I think I might be alive. Went out and fed and was sweating so bad I couldn't see outta my glasses...I hate glasses...that is why I got contacts...that and I am to pretty for glasses.

That is very rude showing a guy a place to buy birds! May have to call them!

well...back to bed for me!

I got my growing pen for my quail done. I have 20 in it now. Looks like it could easily hold 30 or 40 quail at a time. I am going to build a couple of breeder pens next. I have been looking over my birds trying to sex them. From what I have read the males have some red on their neck and breast. Mine should be old enough to tell them apart. They are three weeks old, but they all look the same to me. Would you have suggestions?

I kept two of each kind of chic we got this year plus one odd ball I just liked. Now hubby told me I can keep two more..... I don't know how I will decide!! but I must before POOPS

Yes... bring them to poops.... I would buy one or two of them

PS,

I should get those new birds from Alabama Tuesday or Wednesday. I can't wait to see what they look like. I want to compare them to my own so I can judge how my breeding program is progressing.

I'm glad you liked the Blanchard auction. It definitely is the best of the auctions that we've ever attended too.

I forgot to mention to everyone, the auctioneer discussed with the crowd at the end of the auction whether or not to move the start time to earlier since it lasted so long, and they decided that beginning with the next auction they will start at 3 pm instead of 5 pm. and will be there at 10 am for check in.

I'll be happy to donate whatever I can to help out. We'll donate a lot of chickens too, whenever she decides to restock.

Morning.

Hope everyone has a great Monday. Sorry I went to bed but there wasnt anyone here when I got off. I just needed to wait alittl longer.

Candled my eggs last night and it doesn't look promising. Several that look like blood rings, several I couldn't see, only one with movement. I may be in the market for eggs when I get to POOPS.

Morning.

Sooner those are the mailed eggs right? So sorry to hear that. I can have JG eggs and RIR eggs that are pure. I will also have mutt eggs.

When I talked to Lisa last she had horses which Monty said were saved, goats, turkeys, chickens..........I think most of hers were bantams. I know she liked the polish/top hats.
