Thanks it's good to be on the board again.. Those runners were always a hit when I had people over..I do miss them, but I am looking for a new project now.

One of the kindergarten classes wrote us thank you notes. The word that is on most of the notes is ducks or dux. Those notes with their phonetic spelling are priceless. It was our grandson's class that wrote the notes and they had seen the baby ducks the Tuesday after POOPS, so they were disappointed that they couldn't hold them today, as they were able to do the last time the ducklings visited.

We were trying to catch 2 of the teenage runner ducks this morning and my grandson had a net. He told me "I am going to wiggle like a duck so I can catch them" Fortunately, with feed, most of the poultry was fairly easy to catch.

Nana - at least the school office finally has a face to put with me - some of them thought that the other grandma was married to PaPa, since she brings the boys to school most mornings.

TJ's Na-Na :

Dizzy - Where are you? I learned how to give shots when my
dad was down...not with diabetes, but I learned. Gees, that's
WAY too high....Please do "anything and everything" they tell
you to do !!!!!!!! Stimpy - you, too ! Practice on an orange....
you gotta get that stuff under control. Keep us posted.

P&B - LOL - Yup, you're the "stars" at school. Gees, I figure
you guys just hate that.......LOL.........You'll never know what
you mean to those kids !!!!!!!!!

Bricker - I love it !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ronnie - Yup, saw it "finally"....wish it was gonna last. Have you
seen the forecast.........Oops, my bad...........we're still
celebrating what we saw today..............

Have a good one !

I am in Atoka, well actually Coalgate, but always in Atoka. I have been running in the 400 for months. I didn't have insurance or anything and simply couldn't afford the $150 for insulin and supplies. Finally I got approved, but wonder if it is just too late for my poor kidneys. Oh well, I leave it up to the Lord. I trust him fully. I will let yall know how tomorrows first shot goes.

Stimpy, I didn't get your pm. Let me refresh and see what happens.

Hi Al, I still like ya. How's things in your neck o'the woods?

It's awful boring in my little 8 X 12 cubicle where I work.

Carla,
You should have mail. I got over to paypal. I have decided that yours are the last eggs that I will get before this baby is born.
Don't want to overload my husband with chicks too.
Can't wait to see my Turkens. If you end up with some frizzle Turkens, put me on the list. They are neat looking birds.

Well I was just recently diagnosed and my bg levels are at 450 even after taking 2000 mg of Metformin and 20mg of Glipazide.

I just got my insulin, syringes and alcohol swabs today to start tomorrow morning. We are not to sure how it is going to work since I am unable to hold food down for the last 4 days.

I am scouring the internet for information on how to give myself the shots, as my dr was unable to see me since she is out of town. She called in the RX for Levermir.

I am praying it will work miracles on my numbers as I fear my kidneys are about to kick the bucket.
I am just so thankful to finally get some insulin. They said if I don't hold food down by Friday, then it means a hospital stay

.

Got any tips on how to give yourself shots? The pharmacist, who is also diabetic, gave me some good info, but didn't get to show me in person, so I guess I will play it by ear.

I am a diabetic as well I take four shots a day. I take mine in the front part of my stomach but no closer than a inch to my belly button, swab the area with alcohol and let it dry, pinch the area up and insert needle and inject hold needle in place 3-5 seconds so to be sure that all the insulin has been injected. You can do this as well on your thigh with the same directions. And a couple words of advice, make sure that you let the alcohol dries before giving shots it burns like fire if you dont, and I would alternate sites of injection every other week (stomach to thigh and vice versa) and try not to inject in the exact area in one day I do mine right upper belly, left lower bely so on and so on. Also I am going to send you a PM. We will keep you in our prayers!!
