LOL grace your right but thats the name of her little chi-poo she keeps in the house and she is a little pugde. LOL, she has a lot of animals so she stays busy. , I wish I could go to the cement auction but alas maybe in a couple of months I will just ave to wait and see what life brings us until then. I am considering holding the stock at a different location next year, that is if I can get more help with it. cuz it was tough just getting this one togather,as with the reschedule, and the 4-H backing out and such. and then the problems with the barn, not being cleaned when we got it. I had to clean it up the day before, for the people who had it before us, so that was a mess. depending on my finaces and availble time I was maybe looking at the expo center in shawnee. but if anyone else has some location ideas please let me know.

Country I live halfway between Altus and Duke in EXTREME southwest OK. I live in a town called Victory. Though the town died some years back, it is still on most maps... Takes me about 2 hours to get to the city...

Al, I don't know if we are going to make it to Cement this month...Mike's on call. So unless he can find someone to fill in for him we are chained to Altus... I kinda wanted to get rid of 2 of the banty roos maybe and all the cochins I got. But I don't know.... I want to keep the white ones and black ones for sure... I need to get to Lawton to go to the Depot too. Shoot.

I know you put a lot of effort into CHICKENSTOCK this year. Thank you for that. I have had some experience in putting events together and it is never easy. I appreciate he effort you made even though I was unable to attend.

Shawnee would be a very central location in the state.
The majority of the people on our list are from Central Oklahoma and/or east of I-35.
An area around Okmulgee or Henryetta would be central to the eastern half of the state and about 100 miles or an hour and a half drive from OKC.
I can check on the Shawnee expo center but I doubt we would need a place that large. I didn't make this years CS because of schedule conflicts but that will happen with different people no matter when you have it.
Someone in our group may have ties to their schools ag barn or a place that might be used for free or at a low price.
I will try and check on some places in my area.
Eveyone please offer any help and ideas so Mawchickidie can make plans for next year.

Mawchickkidie did a great job, I had no idea how much work went into getting it all set up, when we arrived it was up and running..Thank You for everything..
I do believe that next year she should have more help, maybe we could form a small planing group and then a set up group..so that we all have a bigger part than just showing up.. I also think ( twice in 1 day something is wrong here) that it should be in a more central location.. and maybe earlier in the year...
I know if all of us Okies put our mind to it we can has a real chciken festivall not just a show..
At any rate if there is anything that I can do beside giving money ( which i have none of to give) I will be glad to do my part..

I wish I could have a chicken get-together at the Chickasha fair grounds. They're newly remodeled within the past few years, really nice. Its about an hour south of OKC though, that'd be a drive for our northern Chickenokies.

AL

Well, I've been married for 13 yrs to my BF and soul mate. Together we have 7 kids, 8 Grandbabies, with another on the way in Jan., we only started raising chickens this last spring... and I can't imagine how I ever lived without them!!! We have 19 RIR, 3 guineas, 2 ducks and 2 turkeys... all pets of course, can't imagine eating any of them... my girls (RIR), love cheese! When they see me coming they make a beeline from whatever it is they are doing. Just glad to have found a site that has so many other chicken lovers... this is awesome. Thanks for welcoming me!
