Thanks for the car info everyone.

The inside of the car is not even close to being as nice as the outside, don't get too excited. My husband and his dad both remodel old cars. If it goes anywhere, it'll be into our garage, I'm sure.

Grace, I showed my mom the pictures of your bunnies, she said they were cute!

At the Cement auction, Barred Rock chicks went for $1.40 each, I think, but there wasn't a large crowd of buyers. You might want to list them on craigslist or take them to a well publicized auction to get a respectable price for them. I sure like the combs of the dominiques. They're cute! You could try the Lexington Auction Monday night.

We need to sell some young birds to empty out a brooder for some newly hatched chicks. So, I guess we'll be taking some chicks and youngsters to Lexington. I think we'll take some jerseys, the last of my white guineas, and maybe a few silkies and maybe a few marans roosters. Oh, and for sure need to take some tom turkeys. Hopefully there will be a good turnout of buyers there. Gosh, Gerald and I are so addicted to auctions that we are using all our vacation leave to take off and go to them. Since we work nights, it's impossible to go to them without taking off from work. Darn the luck .... the auction in Durant (Blue) is this Tuesday, not to mention the Maud auction is every Thursday. I sure wish I were old enough to retire and rich enough to keep going to auctions!

Hi strangers , it is finally over.... long long work weeks lately.pumpkin patch is closed as of today......only weekend work now....those 60 hour weeks were killing me, I am home nursing a huge hand , got stung for the 6th time this year and this one is getting a reaction ! It figures , last day and all.... miss you all....
Hatched out 11 babies this week, had spikes up to 106 and as low as 94 so they are miracle chicks.........like I need more uh! Have missed you all.......
SOOOOOOOOOOO when is the next auction peeps?

Okiechick! It's been so long since we've heard from you! I'm glad you're ok except for the hand. Wow, it sounds like you've developed an allergy. You must be really attractive to those buggers ... I can't recall the last time I was stung, and I'm outside constantly when I'm at home.

Can you go to the auction in Lexington on Monday night? Then, there's the auction in Maud on Thursday night, then on Saturday you have your choice of Blanchard or Jones all near the Oklahoma City area. Hope to see you at one soon!

Great to hear from you. Glad work is slowing down.
The Jones auction is Saturday at 5 p.m.
I was listing all the auctions but speedy fingers Carla beat me to it. Even though you haven't been on here in about a year I am still 4340 posts behind you. That means I'll never catch up.
I hope you visit here more often now, I have missed hearing from you.

OkieChick, I've been thinking about you lately!!! How have you been!? Other than your hand, hope that heals up soon.

I was thinking about that auction when you got the kiddo that button quail.

What did you hatch? Will we be seeing you soon?? I have two chicks now! Or did you even know that I'd sold all mine? Oh and I got married in June! Not sure what all you've missed.

My chickies are spending their first night outside. They're fully feathered now, and the low is only about 55. I checked on them after dark, they seemed ok. But I'm still such a worried mother.

Ok I have never been to an auction as a seller before. Do I need to keep all the birds I plan to sell in separate cages. I am bringing all my mis matched 4-5 month old. Mainly OEG's. My problem is I have 1 large and 2 small cages. I do not want to sell the cages either. I am going to try to make it tonight but I need to see if my mom can keep my grandson for the night, he was school the next morning and he needs to be in bed by 8ish.
Thanks
Tina

It really depends on the auction, at Jones they take the birds out of your cages and then put them in their's. Other places just mark the tag "cage does not sell" But for a better showing never, never overcrowd the cages. If they can all stand good and be seen by buyers they sell better.

Hey all........ selling a big beautiful Australorp Rooster, just about 3 months old.......
also have a couple of Araucana roos too.......only 5.00 a piece , just email me if your interested, located in Jones,Northeast of OKC.....

Tina, I have also seen people put the chickens in cardboard boxes with wire or bird plastic wire (I can remember what it is called, but it stops birds from eating your fruit off the trees) over the tops. That way they can just take the box and go.
