doubleostud, glad you made it home even with half of Oklahoma on the road to Stillwater today.

Well here's a few pic's of dogs, including Beaumont the new guy. I guess I should be taking pic's of my birds once in awhile too

She IS GORGEOUS, isn't she! Daisy is my friendliest pyr and follows me around everywhere. She loves to go in the chicken and turkey pens and help me feed.

Oh, it's so cool that your chicks are hatching. Aren't you supposed to be watching the OU/OSU game right now instead of chickies hatching? Try not to open the incubator until they're done hatching! I know it's hard not to want to help them get out. I've finally learned to leave them alone.

Yea I am watching it right here at the computer. I have a TV in every room of the house except the bathrooms. LOL

I had one hatch yesterday and it was trying to help the others out by pecking at the shells. So I took out the 4 and put in their brooder here next to me. Then this last one got its wing stuck under the rack so had to pull its wing out.

With everything I did to this hatch I am totally surprised I got any to hatch, temps as low as 85 and as high as 106. High humidity or low humidity.

Now for the sportsman I got that this is so easy, it is almost set it and forget it. All I have to do is add water every so often.

These turkens are soooooooooooo cute:love

Tina, now that you have a Sportsman incubator, you are in trouble girl! You're going to be popping out chicks right & left and won't have room for them all.

Yea that is about it, I have 9 doz barnyard specials, some may be Marans true breed, but mainly red sex links. and then 5 dozen black sex links that are due to hatch between the 8th and the 10th. Then I will be done unless my arm gets twisted.

I got a kewl brooder at the Lex auction last Monday, it has 4 stalls in it and stands about 5 ft tall. I can keep alot of chicks in that and they can go OUTSIDE, I will give them about a week in the house then it is outside for them.

Bragging on Hubby yet again!! (save this and remind of it when I am totally ticked at him... shouldn't be too long!) Today we made a trip to the big town of Lawton. Had a HUGE hunk of prime rib and a great glass of wine at the Outback for my b-day dinner. Then we went to Home Depot. I got a hatchet finally... something I can handle... and ... and .... all the stuff to hardwire my coop with timers, motion lights and regular lights! Then I got an oak rocking chair from the Cracker Barrel!!! Woo-Hoo. I'll be the most comfortable girl at the poor farm! He had gotten me one a couple years ago, and it met with a horrible accident...and I really missed it. Now I can watch zang storms from my chair again. (provided it ever rains again here). Powered chickens and a chair!!!

Yep, Tina you're hooked. We have a big brooder in our spare bedroom and one in our shop building too, but I was afraid it would still get too cold for chicks out there in the shop building.

K.T., You are so lucky! It sounds like you had a great day with the hubby!

I had an evil barred rock rooster once myself. I thought I could train him to stop flogging me by chasing him with a broom. He would jump up to attack the broom, then duck under the broom and get me anyway. Somehow he mysteriously disappeared. He must have reappeared at your house.
