I thought his shape and size were that of a Saipan. I had just never seen a picture of a full grown white Saipan. The Saipan Jungle rooster I had when I first started raising chickens in 2001 was probably better described as a wheaten color. Until Carla hatched some Saipans for me last summer, I didn't even know that Saipans came in different colors. He is magnificant.

Hey, everyone i have been meaning to introduce myself for awhile now. I live near Waurika Lake way south here in OK. i have been hatching and raising chickens for about 4 years, but unfortunately last year got some new neighbors that had 5 dogs that decided to break into the pen and coup of about 100+ hens roos and chicks.

Broke my and my daughters hearts,so have just decided to turn the bator on again and maybe with any luck get back on track. I miss the chicken so much it was so relaxing to sit and just watch them from the porch, ( almost like fish in a fish tank, ya know?) anyways hope to be put on your big list thanks so much and if anyone has any laying hens for sale ill be watching:)

Welcome to the Okie thread and HOWDY!!!

No hens currently but I have a couple sharp shooter boys I can lend out! We are planning a swap you should think about coming there should be some birds available and good food and questionable stories being told

If you really want fun...but button quail in a fish tank!!! Look back a few pages I posted a pic of my babies!

Glad to have you join the wild bunch, WELCOME!!!. I fish and hunt at Waurika all the time, I only live 30 min from there in Elgin NE of Lawton, so I know the area well. What kind of hens are you looking for, we live close enough to work something out.

Welcome from the big middle too, well Kingfisher area.

This breeder also has blues and they should be laying any day. Wait a minute, you met him that night right? He has been bringing hatching eggs up to the auction. Marans, Welsummers, Silkies and Russian Orloffs were what we picked up from him Sat.

I also need to look up an old friend, she has Shamo that average about 30in tall but are agressive to each other. When she attended shows they would not pen fight though, just at home.

Teach do you need to get in touch with the guy you bought the bantam Shamo from? I have quite a few birds that we have gotten from him.

Yeah I thought about Shamos or Malays. I just need to learn the breeding sequence and genetic process to figure out the best way to go.
