Okies in the BYC The Original

What I was going to do is to start with a pair of Rocks and a pair of Shamo and start two lines and then breed them back and forth. You should know in a couple of generations what you have.

A Rock rooster over a Shamo hen and a Shamo rooster over a Rock hen. Then breed the offspring to the same of the other line to define them.

I've been rather busy just lately but I've added chicken poop as requested to the t-shirt design. Using a software program to "cutout" chicken poop just doesn't feel right...

Do I still need to add the chicken tracks? I feel it's a toss up at this point.

And just because I had to cut out the poop, here's an added bonus for all the Okies. I call it "Poop Flower".

Have I lost it yet?

It says "Chickenstock Okie Style". On a t-shirt, you will be able to ready it fine. On here, I admit it's a little small.

Nap, most definitely! I would hate to imagine what I might come up with if I was drinking...

Saipans.........We had a trio of reds several years ago. The
chicks were a total hoot. They were snow white, looked like
little snowmen and stood straight up. The hens were good
layers, but their eggs are super large and they both prolapsed
early in their second year. One good thing I'll say about them....
they are snake eating machines ! They will tackle a snake
twice as long as they are tall.

Our experience with the Cinnamon Queens leaned toward
the prolapse problem as well. We bought a super nice
Rhode Island Red rooster a couple of weeks ago and plan
to pen him with them and hope that holds the egg size
down a bit in their offspring. They are such good layers.

Hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather. Hope it
lasts.

Have a good one !

Thanks Monty on the incubator deal, don't have the tax refund yet but will check it out, I like this idea of breeding the Red Siapans to a RIR, this shoud get the Giant Reds and keep breeding back selectivly to get the size and egg production, what do you think Monty? Lynn aka greybear23

Well I like the idea, I am going to order me 2 or 3 Saipan Jungle Fowl males from Ideal next month along with some Blue Red Cubalaya Pullets and males.. I have the RIRs so I will pick out my biggest girls and keep in reserve so when the JF are old enough..

Wanted to be sure you weren't making the Siapan/RIR
connection from my post. We bought the RIR to pen with
our Cinnamon Queen hens. We don't have any siapans
anymore.

Have a good one !
