Don't remember who it was that was talking about ordering chicks from Ideal, just wanted to let you all know that my wife works for Atwood's and they get all their chicks from Ideal and they will special order for people and get them in with their chicks and most times you can save on shipping cost this way, so you might check the Atwood's nearest you and talk to a manager, Lynn

Carla, that'd be great! I am not sure if there will be this many and this kind of eggs at the next auction, since I do not go enough to judge that...but I bet there will be.

(you might check with "Dandelion007")
The next auction is just on March 3, since February was a short month. If you can make it to this next one, or any one, I will certainly guarantee you a sell on a Spitz rooster and a dozen hatching eggs! Maybe some Marans eggs too....

Oh.... as long as there's plenty of birds to buy and sell, I don't really care how we go about it

It will be very tempting I am sure. I will have to leave the wife at home and just sneak them in, think? I have a few breeds in mind but haven't narrowed it down yet. I will be looking for hatching eggs mostly. I bought two incubators. one only holds 18 eggs and the other about 300.

I bet a lot of us Okies could help you fill up that big incubator!

My sportsman incubator is filled to the max, and Gerald took 15 dozen eggs to work to sell for eating. I bought a 2nd sportsman incubator last year (used) but haven't decided if we'll sell it or fill it up. I keep leaning toward downsizing. 300+ adult birds is too much!

Yes! I'm so glad you joined our group!!!!! Oh, and that tom turkey is sure a lucky boy!

I agree, KOA sounds really good, except we'd have to come up with money to rent the meeting place. My DH Gerald is voting for KOA ... it would definitely be a cleaner place, and those that are bringing an RV could stay there. And, KOA is conveniently located off I-40.

I will have lots of chicks and eggs available at the swap. I've even got Blue Slate turkeys laying!!!!

I've got lots of great Spitz & Marans eggs, but not sure if we have an extra roo right now ... maybe a 3-4 month old roo.

WOW! That's what I miss most about college. Finals Week. I remember sitting in the cafeteria (before it was turned into a food court) in the student union. We had a large jar of Folger's crystals instant coffee on the table, and everyone had their own spoon. We just ate the stuff dry and washed it down with whatever liquid we had available.

We thrived on caffeine and adrenaline. GOD I miss those days and those friends.

Lynn,

Lexington is a little one horse town 15 miles south of Norman at the intersection of hiways 77 and 39. The sale barn is 2 miles east of the stop light on 39, then 2 miles south, then 1/2 mile east on the north side of the road. There will be signs, I'm sure.

Yeah, the north Purcell exit from I-35 will lead you to hiway 39. Take that east across the Canadian river and you're in Lexington. I live on Main street in Lexington and I can see Purcell from my front porch.
