Good thing I already have 3 of those styrofoam bators, or I would be slapping my hands right now to keep from calling about this one. $25 is a good price if it is clean.

Carla - I already have a new place for the extra roo you had with those Americaunas I got today. I was putting out some DE in the area where some of the hens were dust bathing and a roo that has had more than his three chances came up behind me and tried to spur me. I hope the chicken soup we are having for supper tonight helps me get rid of this congestion I have been fighting.

Can you please add LU_EggMan in Stillwater. I just joined the list today thanks to Greybear23. We have a small flock of mixed birds - peachface banties, few varieties of cochin banties, few barred rock, Wyandottes, black sexlinks, a mystery rooster, a few americaunas and one white silky hen. We have been raising chickens for around 10-12 years. I am sure we still have a lot to learn.

TJ's Na-Na :

Thanks, I'll try that website. There were some Gold Laced
Wyandotte's (We think that's what they were) up there.
Looked like the picture in the standards book. TJ says
their entry number was 58 and they were from Bristow.
Maybe we need to call them and be sure we know what
we're talking about.........LOL

Guess you missed my "braggin' " post yesterday.....LOL
Both TJ and Shaun, (SlightlyCracked's boy) placed in the
"Top 5 Junior Exhibitors" !!!!! The first couple of times TJ
showed these New Hampshire Reds, the roo took tops
over the hen. The last couple of outs, the hen has
taken over..... And Kendra made it to the final Junior
Exhibitor row with her Mottled Cochin hen, too.

There were lots of really nice birds up there and our
"Okies in the BYC - kids" did super.

I cannot believe I missed you guys. I mean I sw yopu but was getting my ear bent off by some guy. When I finished up my silkie business I went to look for you but could not find you. We left real early about 10. I wanted get back here and get these birds set up.
I missed slightly cracked also.

Have a good one !

I think the Afton swap meet starts up this month. Does anyone go to that anymore. 15 years ago it was the place to be. Just acres of birds and animals. Third weekend of the month

I heard it was next weekend!! We plan on heading down with chicks if I don't sell them on craigslist.
Afton swap can sometimes be good but you have to get there early. Sometimes there are lots of people there selling birds and then there are other times it just a huge garage sale.
You have to really watch what you buy there I have unknowingly brought home sick birds before making MY bird sick.

The swap I am looking forward to is Jacob's Cave the 1st weekend in June. Over 30 acres of redneck fun!! Last year we saw monkeys there and the year before it was a 4 ft alligator!! REALLY!!
They have llamas, goats, chickens, dogs, furniture, everything you can imagine.

Teach would absolutely FLIP OUT over that.......!! :p

I have heard about that one at Jacobs cave. I would really like to go to that also. A pigeon buddy in AR told me afton is not what it use to be. He and I would go every month. That is what he said also, last time he went it was just a big flea market and not a bird on the property. What a shame. In years past I have found some fantastic birds there. I bought a pair of pigeons one time up there for 10.00 I sold them 2 days later for 150.00. I knew that guy did not know what he had, he picked them up at some auction so he doubled his money when he sold them to me 10.00.
never know what you are going to find at these places.

Hey guys

What a weekend. Two days scraping, washing, and disinfecting both coops... getting ready for spring and fuzzies. My silver duckwing hen is setting!! I gave her 7 little eggs to set on. I wish I would have known... would have saved hers from my self blue OEG roo. She has stopped laying altogether now. She is so cute... and FIESTY!!! All ya gotta do is cast a shadow in the coop and she gets to hollering at ya. We were going to go to Cement auction. Got as far as Lawton, and hubby had a bad reaction to some antibiotics they gave him for the chainsaw incident. Thought I was going to have to take him to ER. He was in so much pain he was pouring sweat. Haven't seen him like that since the kidney stone. Turns out, was gastritis... a pharmacist friend of mine told me to give him Tagamet and Maalox... and it must have worked because he has been following me around all day bugging me for food. So I'm grilling him up some brats... if he survives that I'll know he's OK. I missed hanging out with everyone. I swear I'm jinxed with that place. I cannot get there to save me. My mom is hanging in there but not back to normal yet. Don't know what's going on with her. I might go nuts trying to deal with it though... I can't seem to do anything to get her back to normal. Maybe this is the new normal.

Hope you guys are all doing good. I surely wish we could get some rain out here. It's as dry as a popcorn fart out here.

Evening folks!

I represent that comment about the auction with alligators!

I can actually teach it!

While I was at A&M, there were several courses that I took that I had no clue what was being taught...all grad students all from some place else...dropped several had no choice in a couple others...the worst was when a TA said, "Oops! I sorry, forget speak Chinese." Some people had been taking notes.
