Great advice one and all, I have pondered such things as remote water filler/mister for humidity, built in candler, double default back up light set-up, several viewing windows, slide out hatching tray, things like that. My DW insist that it must look good from the outside like a piece of furniture, we will see who wins that one LOL. I may need some help from ya'll on some aspects.

Good morning all!!! It is snowing here in the land of the Cowboys but it is not sticking yet. My pullets that I got from Atwood's (Ideal Hatchery) are all doing great, except one of the Buff Orps. she seems to have a bad hip, will probably put here down as she is not getting any better aqnd I have a SLWy that looks suspiciously like it might be a Rooster and also a Br Leg that might be a Rooster, but thats Ok I am happy with them and they are growing good, Lynn

Mornin' okies.... Just ice here....falling off the roof in chunks now.... better than no precip at all! Hens are kvetching and griping though. Mrs. Squeaky is still setting! YAY! Hope she has at least one fertile egg! Hens are on strike... I moved nesting boxes around when I cleaned. Good grief... you should have heard the ruckus the first day. Now my seller is on the horn.... Have to go give inspirational speech to hens... ala Vince Lombardi....

Might just end up that way but I am over thinking this thing as usual. going out in a bit, just rain and chilly here, Alyssa almost fell off the icey steps going to the bus this am she got lucky though. I am headed out to look at some wood and glass. Miss ya too.

I posted something to this effect some pages ago but only got one response...

We are ready to move out of the city and need some help deciding which direction to go..... really don't care where in the state, but looking at where we can get the most farm land for our money, but not in quite ready to go to BFE, seeing as we will still have to work real jobs. Any recommends?

the panhandle gets classified as BFE...huh? Land is pretty expensive now. Kinda funny when prices go south for the rest of the country ours go up. Folks trying to pay stuff off by selling stuff gor more than what it is worth

I LOVE BFE! My ideal place is where ya can't see the house from the mailbox at the road... in Oklahoma where it's nice and flat... that'd be a lot of nothingness! Teach... I'd lace my boots up tighter and come up there and hang with y'all in No Man's Land. The people up there are awesome. Old time tough. I read that these people would try to farm... lose everything... go back to Kansas or Missouri or wherever they were from, until they could save up enough money to come back and start over. Jeez... they had guts back in the day. I'm all for preserving the institution of tenacity. But then cry over every little thing... oh well... I can always dream about being "old time tough". (*sigh*)

If you plan to garden that might be a factor in your decision.
I don't know much about land prices but I know they haven't given any away in a long time.
There is some nice farm land around the Jones area and over north and east of Harrah.
If you are wanting to go far away from the city, I would say go East. More trees and more water. Always a good thing when trying to grow stuff.
