I wanted them to get here in time for POOPS but that won't be happening. I am really excited, this will be my first time to work with getting breeds and keeping them that way. LOL. I hope to be like everyone here when I grow up.

I hear you there, Sooner...this is my first hatch ever and the first time I've ever chosen a specific breed....I don't have any separate pens set up, but I'm hoping to get a Welsummer rooster out of this hatch and then only have him, so I'll know that at least any Welsummer eggs I get will be pure. My trouble will come when I decide I want to breed any other breeds...then we'll have to do some remodeling of the chicken area of the yard.

Hi Sooner!

Hehehe!

I got about 300 pages to catch up on, busy at work has left me no time.

Life in Na-Na'ville......OK, supper is over, the kids hit the door
to go check water/feed etc., and TJ is planning to AI the
Mottled Cochins....nope, we're running too late, so.....
Na-Na goes to the door and hollers at the kids...."Nope, we'll
AI the mottled birds tomorrow evening"............Then, I come
back in and think about what I just did............Nope, I'd never
have dreamed that I would be hollering something like that....
out the front door.....to a 10 year old!!!!!!!!!!

He and Pa-Pa had already "gathered the fertilizer" for the
white and the barred, but he forgot the mottled. Gees, am not
sure I'm sane enough to even show up at POOPS. But, on
second thought.........I read this forum.........I'm probably good-
to-go...............LOL

Speaking of "who all is missing".....Charter????? Where'd ya
go ???????

Have a good one !

I have two big pen's now. One will all my hens an two roo's, the other has just two roo's. I will have to remodel the coop in that one. which will take some effort with the height issue in that pen. I also have another pen that was for pigs but will end up as my new pens. I also have what I call my "maternity ward" used for broody hens or injured birds. One could be considered a breeding pen for silkies (or any small bird)......I am working on a new lay out for the entire thing.

Me either! I wonder how you get the roo to cooperate. I seen it on Dirty jobs for horses, maybe you should call dirty jobs, that can't be easy or clean!

Teach here is the Reptile Habitat that I have, there are several pics from every angle, there is some slight repairable damage to it, one cracked plexiglass panel(see pic) and one pic is of the hole inside for the electric entrance, the bottom front doors open but they have screws in them to keep them shut for now,it is 6'Tx'Lx2'W, it took up most of my truck bed to get it home, of you are interested in it we can work out a trade, if not let me know and I will offer it to others on the forum before I put it up for sale to the public, pics follow I hope, thanks, Lynn

M.O.S.(Mother of Stray)--
Hello,
I've got quite a few questions, most of them pertaining to this Poops thing my daughter as been talking about, also chickens, I have no clue what we're getting ourselves into, my daughter is the one that's wanting to raise chickens, and she did a pretty good job of it when we lived in Arkansas, I took no part in it, now I've ordered chicks for her from McMurray's Hatchery, 25 of them, Polish and Cochins, I think that might have been a bad choice,

I don't know. Now, I'm not sure what to do because It's been about forty years since I've taken a hand in birds bigger than a finch, she's done all of that for the past couple of years.

So what is Poops all about? She won't shut up about it

Must have something to do with being young.......LOL
We ate supper at Applebee's at Ft. Smith a couple of weeks
ago when we stayed over for Pa-Pa's surgery....TJ spotted
a "HOOTERS" across the highway !!!! He wanted to go
"there" for breakfast.....Nope, didn't think he'd need a
menu.....he figured he'd want #6...that cute little blond......

Gees, he hates that "Na-Na hearing" when he's trying to
sneak one in between him and Pa-Pa............... Yup, THEY
BOTH got a talkin' to.................LOL

#6 would have scared both of them clear into next week...

Ahhhhhhh.........life at the farm.......................

Have a good one !
